After 7 years, my time at VICE has come to an end. I’ve given so much of myself to this job and from it I’ve produced pieces I am immensely proud of. But I’ve also come to deeply care for my teammates and colleagues. Walking away with their friendship helps to ease the blow.
I will be dusting off the resume and getting myself back out there! New opportunities await and I'm ready for whatever challenges are next. Take a gander at my website in the meantime!

In March 2021, TX Gov. Greg Abbott announced the creation of a new border security initiative - Operation Lone Star. Shortly after, questions over its constitutionality began. Our piece is streaming this Sunday on #ParamountPlus with @Showtime. #VICEonSHO

On Wednesday, @Justinjpearson was reappointed to his seat representing TN House District 86 -- just days after being expelled from the TN Statehouse for urging debate on gun reform.
Pearson, who was expelled alongside another Black lawmaker, @brotherjones_ , told @alexisjreports "You cannot separate the reality that race played... But we know that race & patriarchy & white supremacy undergird the pillars & foundation of the Tennessee House General Assembly."
@VICENews finale episode of Inside Story includes a great interview with @lala on her activism & a beautiful essay written by prisoner Bobby Bostic on the peace he's found through gardening.

It also includes mine & @alexisjreports feature piece based on the incredible reporting of @cm_thompson3 @NPRJoeShapiro about the horrors of USP Thomson in Illinois.

DOJ is suing two petrochemical companies that operate in an area of Louisiana known as Cancer Alley. It is one very small step towards justice for these communities.

We spent time with these incredible community members turned activists in 2021 for VICE on @Showtime.
These are people who have endured and endured. I'm so glad for this piece of victory for them today.

We spent time with Maxim and Marina at the hotel they’d been staying in in Matamoros, Mexico. Next to them was another Russian family. And above them several more.
While we were at the camp with Pavel and Anatolii, we got word that another Russian had just arrived. His name is Sergei and he’s a former police officer.
He held and stroked a small rosary throughout the interview.
Sergei left behind his wife and three children
Pavel and Anatolii have been living at a migrant camp in Reynosa, Mexico for weeks. Like the thousands of other Russian migrants who have left, they flew through Istanbul, then Cancun then make their way to the US-Mexico border.
Their plan is to claim asylum in the US.
Last week marked 1 year since Putin's invasion in Ukraine. Since then, CBP has recorded tens of thousands of encounters with Russians at the border. They've left their homes out of fear of being sent to the front line and out of protest against the war.

Really excited for the premiere of our new show, made in collaboration with the Marshall Project. The episodes will be on YouTube but perhaps even more importantly, they'll be made available inside prisons in 48 states.

These are stories about experiences inside prisons across the US and life on the outside. Told by those still locked up and those adjusting to life after their release.
So many wonderful people contributed to this series... hope you'll watch!

In an exclusive sit-down with VICE News, @elizlanders talks with @VP Kamala Harris about the GOP's dehumanization of migrants "fleeing harm" as they pull "political stunts" by sending them to blue states—and even outside Harris' home.
We heard this sentiment while in El Paso, TX earlier this summer.

A new NPR poll finds that a majority of Americans — including three-quarters of Republicans — say the U.S. is "experiencing an invasion" at the southern border.
Advocates warn the rhetoric could provoke violence and has white nationalist roots.
