I asked @punk8164 , as he is a legendary Creative visionary , builder, and TDH Maxi. He kindly shared his article with me, and I copied the exact part from his article about TDH. In addition to being amazing art and public goods, The Memes NFTs will economically secure the upcoming decentralized decision network (DDN chain). Total Days Held (TDH) is the key innovation that makes this possible. -What is TDH? When you support and hold public goods (The Memes), you earn TDH every day based on how many cards you hold and for how long. If you transfer a meme card out of your profile or sell it, the associated TDH goes to 0 instantly. TDH is well distributed, expensive and time-consuming to accumulate. -TDH already has several important uses. TDH holders curate The Memes, distribute REP and Identity Credits (NIC), and have important influence over areas like network growth, funding initiatives, and the 6529 Network Museum. Holders take these decisions seriously because accumulating TDH is a long-term commitment to the network. -When the chain launches, TDH gets another important use. TDH holders who run nodes will earn the network's native token (ticker TBD). There is no presale or insider allocation. All tokens will be mined by TDH holders running nodes. Each block, your share of newly mined tokens = your node’s TDH / total TDH across all nodes. You can think of it somewhat like Bitcoin mining, but using long-term commitment to public goods for economic security instead of electricity. It is quite possible the network launches with ~1,000 nodes globally, each represented by a unique individual because there is no incentive to split your profile. -TDH holders will also allocate funds to help grow the network. Rather than a CEO or investment committee deciding the growth strategy, qualified participants with enough REP can propose initiatives and TDH holders will choose where to allocate capital.
