Day 216 (Part 1): At lunchtime we were invited to the matinee production of “Robin Hood” by Bolton Little Theatre. It was certainly a traditional panto fans delight from start to finish, delivering everything you’d expect with plenty of laughs, audience interaction, and some stellar performances. Georgie Smart was every inch the dashing hero as Robin Hood, complete with thigh-slapping aplomb, while Chloe Heaton’s Maid Marian shone, especially during her beautifully sung rendition of On My Own from Les Misérables. Chris Watts was hilarious as Dame Nanny Anny Flapjack, my latest Dame girlfriend, bringing energy and slapstick to every scene. Craig Pinnington, as Silly Willy, kept the audience, especially the kids, thoroughly entertained, seamlessly drawing everyone into the fun, a great performance. Meanwhile, Ian Trumble as Friar Tuck, delivered a superb comedic performance, showing impeccable timing and humour, with everyone one liner and facial expression landing impeccably! The entire ensemble and cast brought warmth, humor, and high energy, making this a thoroughly enjoyable performance. If you didn’t grab a ticket, you are too late, as tonight’s performance closes what has clearly been a very successful run.
