RESPONSE TO RECENT POST
I've recently been subjected to targeted harassment on X, making claims that are entirely untrue. This is deeply upsetting and stressful for me, my colleagues, and my family. I have reported the matter to Police Scotland and am now no longer active here.
As brilliant as ever after all these years, @wishboneash_com at @APAWhatsOn Lemon Tree this evening in Aberdeen 🎸🎸
I’m delighted with how this looks! @aberdeenunilib is now proudly displaying an @ADHDFoundation Umbrella Project 2024 display, and celebrating #neurodiversity @aberdeenuni

May I propose this a rule of discourse: the making of solemn parallels between minor, annoying measures, health or otherwise, by well-meaning democratic governments AND the liquidation of the entire Jewish people in Europe by the Nazis aka the Holocaust displays crass insensitivity, bad taste, preposterous self-pity and mountainous, moronic ignorance.
In a time when real history is constantly being distorted and misused, it cheapens it and justifies others to do so.
Please stop doing it

Here’s an eternal truth. You are on the wrong side of history if you find yourself on the side that burns a library.

Our thoughts are with @Liverpoollib. Spellow Hub Library, opened last year as the 'library of the future' to support local people get education and routes into work was set on fire amid scenes of violent disorder in north Liverpool. liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liv…
It’s been lovely today to see members of my ‘green library group’ literally introducing greenery into the library. After a fair amount of planning and with the expertise of @aberdeenuni Cruickshank Botanic Gardens, we’re experimenting with hydroponic plants in @aberdeenunilib 🪴

Great to hear the new Secretary of State for Education issue an emphatic ‘international students are welcome’ message at the Embassy Education Conference. Multicultural campuses enrich our universities and communities which is why we remain #OpenToAll abdn.io/PE

I think this is one of the most important projects @UniversitiesUK has undertaken in the time I have been involved in its work. Having critical friends involved in shaping it has been crucial. universitiesuk.ac.uk/latest/…

Love this: @bphillipsonMP speech “Be in no doubt: international students are welcome in the UK. This new government values their contribution – to our universities, to our communities, to our country.” gov.uk/government/speeches/b…
I've seen this piece promoted several times this week, and it's always great to see the academic voice speaking up strongly about the costs and wrong-headedness involved in academic publishing [1/12]

Which is why we're _still_ discussing it, people are _still_ outraged or perplexed when they find out how it works, some baby steps are achieved, but the commercial publishers _still_ keep raking in the money. [11/12]
