You cannot celebrate neurodiversity while only accepting the parts of it that are convenient for you. You cannot say you love autistic people and then become uncomfortable when they struggle with eye contact, social cues, sensory overload, communication or emotional regulation. Real acceptance isn’t about appreciating neurodivergence when it looks beautiful. It’s about respecting people even when their differences challenge your expectations.
