One of the greatest threads I’ve read on this app
You Say Goodbye, I Say Hello: A Story of B-sides, Brian, Beach Boys and Bob.
From Rain to Revolution, Don’t Let Me Down to Baby, You’re a Rich Man, the Beatles are renowned for the quality of their flip sides. Yet great as they may be, with each single it’s easy to hear why the A-side was chosen. All except one, on which the B-side choice continues to perplex fans. How did a song as incredible as Lennon’s psychedelic masterpiece I Am The Walrus end up playing second fiddle to McCartney’s pop gem Hello, Goodbye? Issued in November 1967, their first after Brian Epstein’s death, this single is one of the most pivotal, and revealing, the Beatles ever released.
Hi there, This November, Simon is swimming for @DementiaUK – a cause close to their heart. Your support to help more families facing dementia would be invaluable. Thank you! fundraise.dementiauk.org/s/2…

People often don’t realise that support workers in care homes are often refused funding to accompany people into hospitals. They are the people that know the people they support the best. I have seen tragedy avoided more than once by SW’s correcting hospital mistakes like this!

People who don't know Manchester need to understand the city's Jewish and Muslim communities have lived side-by-side for years, especially precisely where this despicable attack has happened... it will do so again... it will not be cowed by evil.

So, an AI “band” who cite us as an influence (ie, it’s modelled off our music) have just overtaken us on Spotify, in only TWO months.
It’s shocking, it’s disheartening, it’s insulting - most importantly - it’s a wake up call.
Oppose AI music, or bands like us stop existing.
Believe the hype. PTA has added another masterpiece to his oeuvre. There’s a car sequence filmed like I’ve never seen before. Wonderful cast but Sean Penn steals the film. Amazing Jonny G score. Seriously recommend you see this on the big screen

70 years of ITV.
Cannon & Ball gave it everything. We were the wallpaper, not just the furniture.
To be left out of the celebration? That hurts .Not for me—but for Bobby. For the fans. For the legacy.
We made millions laugh. That should’ve counted.

Did you notice how quickly the debate has moved from “it’s not about you, you came here legally and integrated, it’s illegal immigration that is the issue” to “yes it’s totally fine to say that people who have been here for years, integrated and have indefinite leave to remain can have their status retrospectively removed and subject to deportation if they don’t satisfy new yet to be defined criteria”
The more we legitimise anti-migration narratives, the worse it will get.
