Maduro said returning Venezuelans would be welcomed “with love and open arms.”

Nearly two decades ago, Hugo Chavez was languishing in the polls. He deliberately provoked mass protests that led to a coup that came within an inch of sweeping him from power. Thereafter, the dismantling of democracy proceeded apace. Watching Trump now reminds me of that.
