Current training module: how not to nibble and bite me all the time. Boots hasn’t passed this one yet but I am very patient!
Today i’m EIGHT years old. To celebrate I had a thorough grooming session, a good ol walk, a rendition of happy birthday sung to me & a new teddy
Here’s me playing dressage with Ellen’s mum - now i’m retired I love playing with sticks on walks
This retired lark ain’t all bad 🥰
Of course, i’m gonna be on hand for socialisation and general training and guidance on how to be a good boy 👍
(Ellen and Boots are living in the house next door to mine, so i’ll still get my space)
Everybody meet Boots my Dachshund puppy who is coming home with me in a couple of weeks. Me and this little guy are gonna look after each other ❤️
Hey guys thought i’d give you an update on my life. I’ve been retired 10 months now. I live with Ellen’s mum and siblings and I have the BEST life, two walks a day, endless cuddles & constant reassurance that I am in fact the ‘handsomest boy’.
Sadly after I was retired mum got pretty unwell. I’m now living with my Gran Amanda & Aunt Harriet who spoil me rotten & love me very much. My happiness & welfare always comes first & i’m pleased to report I am very happy! Here’s me in my new wool coat, all ready for winter ❤️
Hi all,
It was decided last week that I am going to retire. My surgery was just too big, & I deserve a quieter & slower pace of life now where I can be spoilt rotten.
Mum is devastated, I have been the best guide, support & companion she could have ever asked for.
Skipp x
When you just can’t handle the teasing anymore 😝
(video shows Skipp sat down, Ellen is holding his (massive) golden retriever teddy in front of him, he looks adoringly at it, waits for a few seconds & then jumps up, takes the teddy out of Ellen’s hand and walks off)
Those who follow me will know i’ve had a really rough ride.
Throughout, the charity @guidedogs guidedogs have been incredible (see thread)
All of this support is provided by a brilliant charity that relies on public donations & will be struggling given the pandemic.
If you can, please consider supporting @guidedogs so they can continue to support visually impaired people like mum 👉 guidedogs.org.uk/how-you-can…
While I was really poorly I was fed handfuls of food whilst lying on my bed. Now i’m starting to get a bit better mum has started to reintroduce some discipline. (Video shows Skipp politely sat waiting with his food bowl in front of him, Ellen whistles and he starts eating)
