Hi everyone, I’m Marvellous, some of you know me as Ini. I’m a few months from finishing my MPH at NYU. I planned for this year with a student loan and a summer internship but it didn’t come through. Then this month, MPOWER shut down. I was on their waitlist.

Zendaya says there's one attractive quality about her husband that makes her jealous and impressed
Zendaya: "Something I am always impressed with Tom about, which I feel like I want to inherit more of, is he's very...
Tom Holland: "Awesome? legendary? talented?"
Zendaya: Yeah, so many great words...but you really stand on your big stickler for respect and kindness."
"Not to say that I'm not doing that, but you just make sure that is in the front."
"And then if that line is crossed, I think sometimes he's better at drawing boundaries and making things clear. And I'm a little bit more like, okay, guys, it's all right, everything's all right."
"You're good at being like, no, no, this is, we're not doing this. You're good at setting the boundaries when they need to be set. Really clearly, really strong."
"So I like that you have, you know what you feel is right for yourself, and you do it, and for others you're very protective in that way.

Rest easy, Captain. We have the helm. ✨
This is Webb’s look at Westerlund 1, a super star cluster. Because our galaxy is past its peak of star formation, and because stars live relatively short lives, only a few of these clusters exist to give us clues to that past era.

ALT Image description: A quote by Captain Jean-Luc Picard, played by Patrick Stewart. "I've come to believe that the stars have always been in my favor." - Jean-Luc Picard. The image shows a dense cluster of bright stars, each with six large and two small diffraction spikes, due to the telescope’s optics. They have a variety of sizes depending on their brightness and distance from us in the cluster, and different colors reflecting different types of star. Patches of billowing red gas can be seen in and around the cluster, lit up by the stars. Small stars in the cluster blend into a background of distant stars and galaxies on black.

The largest crypto exchange in the world just experienced the largest robbery in human history—and the person running it is a nomadic autistic man in Dubai posting “Funds are SAFU!”
What a time to be alive.
I was having a conversation with my two-year-old son yesterday.
I said “Look, as a systems thinker, it is critical to understand that behavior emerges from structure, not parts.”
He said “I know, dad. The structural patterns persevere even when the parts are replaced.”

Rick Ross tells the media he is innocent as he walks out of jail after being arrested on domestic violence charges, including felony battery by strangulation.
“I’m totally innocent of these fabricated allegations made against me. I’ll be in Dubai tomorrow, Paris Saturday, and I plan on having a bowl of rigatoni with heavy marinara Sunday. I repeat, heavy marinara.”

A democracy cannot coexist with an oligarchy. If you have both, you only have one. And it's not the one you voted for.

Years ago, I was punching calculator buttons and knee deep in international tax law, sure my career was headed that way. A few conversations with Blessing, a good friend from secondary school, changed my path completely.
Today, Blessing needs help.
She has earned a place at @Esade Business School, but funding for international students has become very hard to get this year. She has to pay an €8,000 reservation fee by 1 November (talks are in to extend the deadline) to secure her place. She’s also facing surgery, which makes this an even harder moment.
If you can give anything, it would mean a great deal. If you can’t, and I know many people are stretched right now, please share this with someone who might be able to help.

I’ve seen tweets from scholars complaining about how they wrote their papers independently, without using AI, only for peer reviewers to feed their papers into AI tools and provide AI generated reviews of their work.
You can choose not to upload your documents to AI tools, but how do you stop a reviewer from doing so?
