Welcome to Gomorrah: a massive privately owned mining city built in the crater of god’s footsteps after the impact compressed millions of humans into “coal”

You’re 1/200th of a parent to this mf. You’re 1/200th of a parent and you’re dodging child support???
Over halfway there in 24 hours!
If you wanna help to spawn the cutest pyromaniac of all time in your home here’s your chance:

The first of many SLUDGEBATH plushies: 10 days to collect 200 pledges so we can summon Chibi Gao to our reality.

For 5 years “Gao the Arsonist” has contained every ounce of my creative energy. Evolving from a kid wearing a gas mask, to the sprawling, autism-tinged multi-media project that SLUDGEBATH is now: this mf is family.
Now he’s a Plush :)
200 pledges and we can make him exist🫀
This is the guy you want to snuggle with under the covers btw

You live in a mining city after god’s footstep compresses millions of humans into coal.
Impoverished, depressed and alone, you stumble across and merge with a mysterious, reality-warping substance in the mines. This “sludge” ignites on command and burn indefinitely. Survive.

The technology in SLUDGEBATH is fairly anachronistic but imagine if they found a bunch of rudimentary computing tech in the 40s.
VOUNO utilises a subterranean reality-warping substance called “Promethenol” to achieve technological feats that would be otherwise impossible.

What's the tech level like in this world? Some of the art earlier had neon signs and from this art film is still in common use. Pre-semiconductor tech?

At first, I thought this was an indie game with cool aesthetics. After all this is the premise around which Hidetaka Miyazaki would usually spawn a game.
An unknowable eldritch entity materialising on earth and compressing millions of humans into coal is brutal…
A mining company seeing the apocalypse as a business opportunity is horrifying.

The concept it's absolutely brutal; cosmic horror and industrial horror mixed together.
I have such a deep love for this world and the characters in it. It’s so special to see 1000 of you on here sharing that love too. Thank you.
This is just the beginning🫀
When “God” appeared on earth and compressed millions into coal, the world was on the cusp of a social and technological revolution. The ultra-conservative “Eden Restorationist” sect grew as people saw the tragedy as divine punishment for straying from God’s “grand design”

I imagine whatever cult(s) formed for Prometheus place a lot of importance on who directly witnessed the 23.3 seconds, if they saw all of it, and how close they were.
