Itโs #FemaleFilmmakerFriday! As I did last year, Iโm beginning my new #DirectedByWomen thread with an Indie Spirit contender. And, since itโs Christmastide, I'm bearing witness to the religious musical bio-pic THE TESTAMENT OF ANN LEE (2025) by Mona Fastvold. #52FilmsByWomen #1

September 29: NO TIME TO DIE (2021)
Opera last night means I just rewatched this now. I remembered it as a good (if long) send-off for Craig and I still think that. Now I also realize the plot is partly from the novel YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE. #JamesBond #SeptemberRankingChallenge2026
September 30: Final James Bond Ranking
Top and bottom was easy, but that middle...
Thanks to @stonegasman for prompting me to rewatch everything with an eye to finally finishing my blog project on the novels. #JamesBond #SeptemberRankingChallenge2026

A throwback picture of Holly the Duchess of Density and Backpack
Legends of the Game
He got it from his mama.
Bear 89, aka Backpack, is the 2026 Fat Bear Week champ. Turns out hefty runs in the family.
His mom, Holly the Duchess of Density, won in 2019. She carried him on her back as a cub and helped him survive a serious leg injury. Now her little Backpack has a crown of his own. ๐
I can't believe 910 isn't in lead.

Replying to @Lambadockis @criterionchannl
are you on Criterion Channel? curious whether I'm just being a reactionary luddite but I hate *everything* about the overhaul, even small things like how you could add/remove from queue with a click but now have to click through to film first.

Wow I thought it wasn't possible but Criterion somehow managed to make their website even worse

Iโm sorry, the clip of Zohran Mamdani getting on a Citi Bike while someone yells out โcommunist!โ and him replying that itโs actually pronounced โcyclistโ is forever etched in my mind.
I aspire to achieve this level of quick-witted and respectful clapbacks!
