Wonderful to see the return of @matchbooklitmag after their hiatus. This story from @GabeDurham is a peach (or a pumpkin or an artichoke) - "For my first three Halloweens I was a pumpkin. When the following year I got to choose, I asked to be a butternut squash."
"For my first three Halloweens I was a pumpkin. When the following year I got to choose, I asked to be a butternut squash." New fiction by @GabeDurham Gabe was our first work published in 2009, so it's only fitting he's the first for our relaunch. matchbooklitmag.com/mb/durha…

Why is non-recyclable plastic food packaging even allowed? Bad on me for not noticing when I ordered this β€” but honestly? Why is @waitrose, which positions itself as welfare-friendly, using *any* packaging that can’t be recycled/composted? #ecofriendly #Sustainability

A charity bookshop manager told me they pulp most donations of gardening/flower books, bc they don't sell ('people go online now') – but a pressing in 'Wildflowers: How to Know Them' (1933) tells of a walker, a slim book in a pocket, a discovery and a memory preserved.

Don't you love it when you find things inside second-hand books? This wildflowers book doubled as a flower press. Is there a word for 'ephemera found inside old books'? #ephemera #junkjournal

It can be hard to keep track of all the stories flying by during the FlashFlood, so we've compiled the whole 2023 line-up into one big list so you can more easily find anything you've missed.... flashfloodjournal.blogspot.c…
