I wanted to see how far I could take a trading idea with @quantpilotapp so I decided to build an EMA trend-following strategy that looks for pullbacks instead of chasing price movements on BTC/USDC from scratch. I gave @quantpilotapp agent my entry conditions, indicators and risk management rules, then let it work on developing and testing the strategy. Here’s how it went The initial setup i used👇: • EMA 50 / EMA 200 for trend direction • RSI 14 for momentum confirmation • ATR 14 for volatility and stop-loss placement • 1H candles for entries The idea was to enter when price pulled back towards the trend rather than buying every breakout. What I found interesting was that QuantPilot’s agent explored different configurations, with the working version ending up at EMA 34 / EMA 250. Here’s what the backtest produced: • Starting capital: 10,000 USDC • Total return: +0.78% • Net profit: +77.7 USDC • Profit factor: 1.05 • Maximum drawdown: 5% • Filled orders: 102 Tested over July 28 – October 28, 2026. Not a crazy return, and definitely not a finished strategy. But that’s the point of experimenting to find out what works, what doesn’t, and what needs improving. One thing I liked about the process was being able to go from a plain trading idea to an actual strategy, test its performance and inspect the results without building everything manually and not lose money.
