Anthropic filed for IPO. AI stocks rallied.
But nobody's asking: a rising AI tide lifts all closed models. It says nothing about whether you can run one yourself.
Open weights aren't magic. But they're the only version of this boom you control.

Your backend needs to handle 100,000 requests per second. Which framework are you trusting?
A. Node.js + Express
B. Python + FastAPI
C. Go + Gin
D. Java + Spring Boot
Everyone's excited DeepSeek's chat is free. Fair.
But the real story: the weights are open-sourced.
- Download & run it yourself
- No API costs
- Full control
Catch: you need GPUs + engineering to serve it.
Open weights aren't magic. But they're a real option now.
Am getting in love with @FastAPI
I will update you when am I love with her.
Imagine waking up one day and AI no longer exists.
I’d have to go back and relearn CS from scratch. 😂
What happens to your career?
When a drug batch is recalled, how does the manufacturer know who has it?
Usually: phone calls, spreadsheets, days of guesswork
I'm building DawaTrack to fix that, one click gives the full distribution tree and quantities
Healthcare folks, tell me how recalls work on your end

We just moved from tutorial hell trap to AI trap where a lot of developers become productive if they have AI subscription and hide behind vibe coding as the a true role in an organization.
When did we do this transition?
Things are moving so fast in other world, na sisi bado watu wetu hawajakua na habit ya kulipia SaaS bado wanadhani ni scams.

One of the biggest lessons I've learned as a software developer is this:
If you don't track metrics, you're developing based on assumptions.
It's easy to spend weeks building new features, fixing bugs, and shipping releases. But without measuring what actually happens, you can't answer simple questions:
• Which features do users actually use?
• Where do users drop off?
• What's slowing down the application?
• Did the latest release improve anything?
Metrics turn opinions into facts. They help you prioritize the right work, catch issues before users report them, and build software that continuously improves.
Good software isn't just about writing clean code—it's about making informed decisions backed by data.
If you can't measure it, you can't improve it.
What metrics do you consider essential in the applications you build?
