Small Town Remedy styling director Liu Ning reveals that Liu Zhengliang's stubble was Xiao Zhan's own idea and explains how he maintained its length throughout filming. 🎤: When I first saw his look, there was something else that really caught my attention: the light stubble. I thought it was a particularly clever touch. So how did you decide on the length, placement, and density of the stubble? 👩🏻: We really have to thank Xiao Zhan laoshi for that because the stubble was actually his own idea. He thought he could grow a little facial hair. But at the time, we felt it would be extremely difficult to keep it consistent. Because, just like you said, it might be a little longer today and a little shorter tomorrow, and then the shots wouldn't match. But for the sake of this character, Xiao Zhan laoshi precisely controlled the timing of his beard growth. 🎤: How did he manage that? 👩🏻: He carefully timed when he shaved each day. For example, he'd shave after wrapping up filming, leaving just a tiny bit of stubble, so that by the next day, it would have grown to exactly the right length. So basically, he shaved about once every two days. 🎤: That's incredible control! 👩🏻: What really moved me about this production was how much effort everyone put into bringing this character to life. Once we'd established the look, the actor himself was also extremely meticulous. He's an incredibly disciplined actor. Every day, he managed to keep his stubble at just the right length, something we all thought would be incredibly difficult to achieve. But he managed it exceptionally well. #XiaoZhan #肖战 #SmallTownRemedy
