BlockFest Africa is 5 days away, so I built something for it 📍 Thousands of founders, builders, investors and creatives, all under one roof at the National Theatre. You came to meet specific people. Finding them in that crowd is the hard part. So I built Where Are You: a consent-first meetup app made for @blockfestafrica @SamuelXeus How it works: You find someone and ask for their location for 15, 30 or 60 minutes. They see exactly who's asking and for how long, and they choose. If they say yes, they appear on your map with a countdown. When time's up, it's gone. No always-on tracking. No one sees you unless you say yes. What's inside 📍 Request-based location sharing: temporary, and you can stop it any time with one tap 🏛️ A 3D map of the real National Arts Theatre, plus satellite view 🧭 Find: an arrow that points you to your person, with live distance 👋 Statuses like "Open to meet", "Looking for builders", "Hiring" and "Down for photos" 👥 Squads: a temporary group for the day that sees each other on the map 📸 Photo pins: drop a "meet me here for pics" spot for everyone 🔔 A heads-up when someone you're meeting is nearby 🛡️ Block anyone, go "heads down" and turn off requests, stop all sharing at once Privacy first: Your location is only sent while you're sharing, and it's deleted, not just hidden, the moment sharing stops. Only verified ticket holders get in. What's next: • Ticket verification, so only real attendees can join • Easy sign-in with X or Google • Push notifications for requests and nearby friends • An optional end-of-day recap of who you met Launch: Where Are You opens to all BlockFest ticket holders on day one, October 22, at the National Arts Theatre, Lagos.
