This documentary showed just how easy and common it is for police to coerce a woman into recanting rather than properly investigating her claims, further pushing the narrative that women lie about rape.
"Oh but she signed a statement to the police saying XYZ..."
When women report rape, the police lie to the victims in grueling interrogations to coerce conflicting statements or retractions and then charge the victims with "falsely reporting" rape.

Breaking: CBS News has obtained a transcript of the Cornell gang rape victim's interview with campus police.
She explains the initial encounter was consensual, but later in the evening she was raped and physically beaten.
When describing what happened later in the night, the transcript shows she told campus police:
“𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝟏𝟎𝟎% 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐝.”
She also says she “was being physically hit very, very hard."
The police and Cornell University failed this victim big time. There needs to be a reckoning and the rapists need to be arrested.

You’re actually psychotic for admitting you will take extreme pleasure in getting some twisted version of revenge on a rape victim. Do you know how incredibly unimportant you are? To think that because you don’t believe this woman she deserves to be attacked and harassed by everyone? Wanting to out a victim of rape who is annon for safety reasons so you and others can shame and attack her because you don’t believe her is so fucking insane and disgusting I don’t even have words to describe how depraved some of you are. What is wrong with you people, you need help.
The amount of hate some men have for women is sometimes shocking. Trying to intentionally harm a person who’s been through a traumatizing experience because you don’t believe her is actually so deplorable I truly cannot grasp the way some of your brains work.
