By the time I return to Nanhui, it will already be autumn. I have joined the effort to rebuild Nanhui.
Today, I finally have time to write you a letter. The Xiangxi Hotel is no longer as prosperous as it once was, and everywhere is now left in ruins. Those familiar faces from years past have either departed or drifted apart. Both love and resentment have faded away. The promise we made beneath the red leaves remains, but I am the only one left to keep it.
Looking back on the past, after a lifetime of entanglements, I wonder if it was all just an autumn dream, one that would eventually disappear without a trace. After all the twists and turns in this chaotic world, in the end, I still wish to return to your side.
Looking back carefully, the time I truly spent loving you amounted to no more than a few brief years.
If there is a next life, I hope we can meet under different circumstances and find each other at the right time.

we know they removed lots of important lanqing scenes, lots of happy scenes of yuchangxuan and yepingjun with their son, and back when they were filming, xixi spent many days shooting pregnancy scenes
there was even a scene where she got slapped over and over and had to use an ice pack because her face got swollen, but all that effort was for nothing since none of it made it into the final cut
everyone who followed the filming back then knows how harsh the experience was for xixi. it was basically five months of being slapped, tortured, pushed around, submerged in cold water… she looked on the verge of collapsing many times. only for so much of those scenes to be cut. can’t help but feel like it’s disrespectful to all her hard work 🥴
actually xixi really went through a lot during the filming and broadcast for this drama, i’ll yap about it once the drama is over, just not now because i want to finish the week on a positive note 😅
i hope xixi gets to enjoy the benefits of the drama’s success and that nothing but positive experiences and projects come her way 🥹
