Beloved DC--today we open to you for the first time, at 3PM.
This is our dream come true after 7 years of work.
Dreams coming true are powerful--come share in that power for for your own dreams, in this time of fruition and renewal for our city.
We can't wait to see you.
Yes great job by OTJ Architects and @mecanoo_ on this.
The newly renovated, Mies van der Rohe-designed flagship MLK Library is quite spectacular. Go see it! But I have to say the most awesome thing I discovered in celebrating 125 years of @dcpl last night is its dedicated staff, including Central Library Director Maryann James-Daley.
Stopped in at MetroBar today to discuss a few details and talk through a few things with the team. It's been an interesting journey and looking forward to the space being packed.
