BATUK: BRITAIN'S COLONIAL GRIP IN KENYA BATUK: The White Man’s Burden in Kenya is not just a documentary about a British military base where soldiers roll around in the dirt for six months before returning home to the UK. It is a documentary about abuse of power, occupation of indigenous land and the unfinished business of colonialism. For decades, ordinary Kenyans living around BATUK have raised allegations of abuse, sexual violence, ecological destruction and impunity, while one of the world’s most powerful former colonial powers continues to operate freely on Kenyan soil, handing out small amounts of compensation whenever evidence of alleged crimes reaches the media. At the centre of the documentary is the story of Agnes Wanjiru, a 21-year-old Kenyan woman who was tortured, killed and dumped in a septic tank, while British soldiers mocked and ridiculed her death on social media. One soldier posed in front of the septic tank and posted, “If you know, you know.” Others joked about the five-month-old daughter she left behind, posting imagery of a baby beside a gravesite. But the story goes beyond Agnes and her tragic killing and the shocking behaviour of British troops thereafter. The documentary asks deeper questions: How did Britain maintain a military presence in Kenya, the very same year the country supposedly gained independence? Why are foreign troops still training on stolen land while local communities continue to suffer? And above all, why does the Kenyan government allow all of this? Laikipia County, currently in the spotlight because of plans for an Ebola quarantine facility for US citizens, is the very same county where the BATUK military base is headquartered. This documentary helps connect the dots about why Kenya’s political elite remain so willing to cede sovereignty to foreign powers like Britain, and why they may be willing to do the same again with the United States. This is Sovereign Media’s first-ever documentary. We are a small, independent team with a brand-new YouTube channel and no corporate backing. We need your support now more than ever. Watch. Share. CO-FOUNDER OF WE ARE NOT NUMBERS PROVIDES AN UPDATE ON THE SITUATION IN GAZA “Their life in G*za is crueler than death…what is going on in G*za is a slow death.” P*lestinian journalist and co-founder of “We Are Not Numbers,” Ahmed Alnaouq, spoke with Sovereign Media on 16th October 2026, providing a detailed update on the situation in G*za, highlighting why it is important for there to be media coverage focusing on the ongoing violence against the P*lestinian people carried out by the Isr*eli military. We Are Not Numbers is a youth-led P*lestinian non-profit organisation and journalism project founded in 2014 by Pam Bailey, Ahmed Alnaouq, and Dr. Ramy Abdu (with the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor) that aims to pair emerging journalists and writers in G*za with international mentors to write stories about their lives under Isr*eli occupation.

LUTON PRIEST BLASTS FAR-RIGHT PROPOGANDA Lucas Larner, a British priest in Luton, has blasted far-right propaganda spread by the likes of Tommy Robinson, who had said that "If you go to Luton, you'll never find a Muslim and a non-Muslim associating with each other, working with each other." Under his own testimony, the priest said that many more Muslims are volunteering at the church, helping with everyday chores like cutting the grass and helping with the food bank than any members of the far-right. He also added that he had set up a project with the Muslim doctor next door as further evidence of social cohesion that exists and is only being broken by members of the far-right spewing hate and anti-Muslim rhetoric.

IS GHANA SELLING OUT ITS SOVEREIGNTY AND ITS NORTHERN NEIGHBOURS? We've seen it all before: an African leader who knows how to talk the talk but intentionally refuses to walk the walk. Some celebrate Ghanaian President John Mahama for a series of much-needed social reforms in the country, including economic reforms in the cocoa-producing sector and prison reform that offers community service as an alternative to prison time. He is also praised on the world stage for pushing the international community to recognise the horrors of the European slave trade of African people, opening the door for potential reparations. But are these reforms a cover for a more sinister hidden agenda with the West that comes at the expense of Ghana's revolutionary northern neighbours, the Alliance of Sahel States’ Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso? And if Ghana is signing backdoor deals with the West and its allies, does this also cost the Ghanaian people their sovereignty? In this video, we look at a few examples where Mahama's words and actions directly contradict each other.

DID ISRAEL STEAL THE IDENTITY OF A BLACK WOMAN RAPPER FOR AI PROPAGANDA? The Isr*eli government has been accused of stealing the identity of a Black musician after her likeness was used in an AI-generated propaganda video it posted on X without her knowledge or consent. The now-deleted video was created by Eyal Ben Moshe, an Isr*eli-born New Jersey-based video director who goes by Eyal Be. It featured an AI avatar performing a rap track titled, '"J*ws from Judea (We DID)", which attempted to assert J*wish indigeneity to P*lestine with lyrics like: "Now you call it colonising? ... J*ws from Judea, we did." The post sparked swift outrage from British Angolan-Portuguese singer and songwriter iamDDB, who publicly identified the AI persona as a direct digital clone of her appearance and voice. Replying directly to Isr*el's official X account, she asked: "Why did you steal my identity for something I 100% did not consent to?" Rafael Shimunov, a J*wish New York-based broadcaster and activist, identified the photoshoot fed into an AI tool to generate the video, noting that they forgot to remove the brand iamDDB was wearing. Amid a social media backlash, Isr*el removed the video, but the damage was done. "This is so on brand for Isr*el. Isr*el can't even propagandize without stealing," responded political commentator Danny Haiphong. "Isr*el stole land and homes. Now it’s stealing people’s identities to feed its AI slop," noted @CensoredXHumans.

NO KINGS, BUT PRO-GENOC*DE A heated exchange between CODE Pink Activist Made Benjamin, a pro-P*lestine protester, and an attendee of the “No Kings” demonstration, exposed the weaknesses and contradictions within parts of the American anti-Trump movement. A pro-P*lestine protestor and Madea Benjamin were confronted by a demonstrator insisting that the gentleman holding the Palestinian flag was at the “wrong event.” She declared, “This is about the United States. It's about our democracy,” demanding that he put the flag away. But the pro-P*lestine protestor pushed back, pointing to continued P*lestinian deaths, Isr*el's reported ceasefire violations, and the ongoing occupation. While there’s a “No Kings” stance, and a demand for “democracy and freedom” at home, U.S. protestors dismiss imperialism and avoid addressing the g*nocide in G*za and the P*lestinian issue. Another criticism is that liberal, democratic party-funded demonstrations act as parades and concerts, rather than protests. There are no demands, other than “vote blue,” showing a lack of understanding of the empire. The G*za g*nocide did begin under Joe Biden, and the war in Ukraine has also continued regardless of democrats or republicans being in power. While one confrontation does not represent an entire movement, it does highlight a recurring issue within American liberal politics that has disillusioned many Democratic voters. Demanding freedom from oppression domestically while dismissing conversations about the oppression enabled by US power abroad, as if it doesn’t exist.

NAKBA SURVIVOR OF 1948 STANDS WITH THE NAKBA SURVIVORS OF 2026. “They [I*raeli officials] advertise everything…they're not hiding anything. Their ambition is to empty the land of P*lestinians, and we're going to stop them. There is only one way to do it. Stay on the land.” N*kba Survivor Dr Ghada Karmi sends a direct message to the P*lestinian people across G*za. Born in 1939, Dr Ghada Karmi was forced to leave her residence in J*rusalem as a direct result of Isr*el’s creation in 1948 and eventually moved to England, where she had practised as a doctor before working as a specialist in the health of refugees and migrants. Since then, she has become an authoritative voice on Isr*el's occupation, responsible for writing a plethora of articles in newspapers and magazines, including The Guardian, The Nation and the Journal of P*lestine Studies, specifically on the P*rtlestinian issue.

The Azawad Liberation Front (FLA)'s outreach to the UAE and Khalifa Haftar's camp marks a dangerous escalation that regional actors say threatens to merge the Sahel's separate conflicts into a single regional war. This manoeuvre comes just months after Mali and Algeria restored diplomatic relations on 10 July 2026, a rapprochement that had begun to stabilise the region's diplomatic and security architecture. According to regional sources, an FLA delegation led by Bilal Ag Acherif and Abbas Ag Intalla, accompanied by businessman Hanoun Ould Ali, visited Benghazi to meet Saddam Haftar, deputy commander of the Libyan National Army, seeking military equipment and cooperation. Bilal Ag Acherif then continued to Abu Dhabi for further contacts. The FLA's outreach seems driven by desperation: it lost its stronghold of Kidal in early October 2026 and has seen its traditional relationship with Algeria deteriorate. The UAE is Haftar's primary patron, and its Sahel involvement is well documented. If Abu Dhabi and Haftar begin arming the FLA, the Mali conflict could connect with Libya's unresolved civil war, creating a continuous arc of instability. Any Haftar-FLA cooperation against Malian forces would inevitably collide with the other Alliance of Sahel States (AES) countries, Niger and Burkina Faso, which fight alongside Bamako. Another possible outcome of this alliance would be cooperation between the FLA and the UAE-backed RSF, which has ravaged Sudan since 2023, has a chokehold on the Chadian state, and uses both Chad and Haftar’s LNA-controlled areas as its main logistics route. The FLA's pivot also undermines the fragile Mali-Algeria normalisation. Algiers views any UAE-linked network near its borders as a serious security concern. As former Algerian diplomat Amar Belani warned, the FLA risks being "manipulated by external powers seeking to advance their own geopolitical interests". What begins as a reactionary group's search for survival could spark a devastating regional conflagration that links the Sahel's wars.

Venezuela’s ruling United Socialist Party (PSUV) has condemned a new U.S. arrest warrant against former Cuban President Raúl Castro, calling it an act of political intimidation and an attack on Cuba’s sovereignty. On October 19, Florida authorities issued a warrant charging the 95-year-old revolutionary leader with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder over the 1996 downing of two aircraft belonging to Brothers to the Rescue, a Miami-based Cuban exile organization. Four people were killed in the incident. Castro was also federally indicted in May over the same event. Havana accused the organization of repeatedly violating Cuban airspace and conducting provocative operations, but international aviation investigators insisted that the aircraft were shot down over international waters. Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and Venezuelan officials have denounced the renewed prosecution as politically motivated, linking it to Washington’s decades-long economic blockade and mounting pressure on Havana. Díaz-Canel called it a “repudiable action” with no legal or practical meaning, describing it as a “legal disguise” mounted by anti-Cuban politicians and part of Washington’s effort to justify the illegal blockade and collective punishment of the Cuban people. Meanwhile Cuba’s Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez called the warrant an “infamous act” intended to intensify the economic asphyxiation of Cuba. The PSUV argues that the warrant is another instrument of U.S. coercion against Cuba, coming just weeks before the American midterm elections. The party is now calling on Latin American and Caribbean governments to collectively defend Cuba’s sovereignty, independence, and right to self-determination. As Washington intensifies its pressure on Havana, the PSUV is deviating from the Venezuelan government’s most recent cooperation with Washington. The party reiterated that the communique was from them and not an official statement from the Venezuelan government.

El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele has launched a military operation in Haiti, deploying 100 special forces, after four Salvadoran military members were allegedly ambushed, fired upon and kidnapped by armed gangs. He’s to send 100 more soldiers to Port-au-Prince. "I want you, the gang leaders, to understand one thing very clearly: today's attack is nothing compared to what is coming if we do not get all four hostages back alive. And do not take our word for empty threats. We have already finished with the gangs in El Salvador, and we can finish with you too,” Bukele threatened. The men had allegedly been shopping and were traveling in a white Toyota Land Cruiser when they were ambushed and shot at by armed members of the Chen Mechan gang. The 400 Mawozo gang then set the vehicle on fire with an explosive device. But what are Salvadoran military forces doing in Haiti to begin with? According to reports, the men were aviation technicians deployed via the UN-authorised Gang Suppression Forces (GSF), which were sent to combat gangs that have reportedly taken control of large parts of the country, particularly the capital, Port-au-Prince, amid an alleged collapse of public security and political institutions. The GSF is not even technically a UN peacekeeping mission, but a multinational armed force authorised by the UN, supported through a UN logistical office and operating within its own command structure. This isn’t the first time the UN and other entities have interfered in Haiti’s affairs, the UN has had six different missions since the early 1990s. Throughout Haiti’s history, one constant has been military intervention, whether it was France, the US or the UN. Under the guise of helping the country this has only led to worsening violence and chaos. With this latest threat from Bukele, Haitians will face another escalation.

MARCO RUBIO: IT'S TIME TO GROW UP ON FOREIGN POLICY At a presser, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed foreign policy toward Russia and China, noting that Trump has sought to broker a deal to end the war in Ukraine and that Putin, Xi, and Trump are seeking to meet to discuss possibilities. Rubio defends President Donald Trump's willingness to engage with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, arguing that communication between the world's leading nuclear powers should be welcomed not condemned. While Rubio’s desire for diplomacy is preferable to bombing and war, it’s clear the outlook is only reserved for some. Talking to adversaries isn't surrender, and negotiating with governments you disagree with isn't an endorsement of their policies. Yet, it’s interesting that Washington’s Secretary of State talks about diplomacy and peace rather than war. It's a remarkably reasonable argument coming from an administration whose foreign policy has also relied heavily on sanctions, economic coercion, military threats, bombings, interventions, regime change, and nuclear weapons, especially in West Asia with the war in Iran and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is also especially interesting since the United States arguably began this war with its interference in Ukraine in 2014 via the Maidan Coup. U.S. officials Victoria Nuland and Geoffrey Pyatt went to influence Ukraine’s election, ousting the democratically elected leader, Viktor Yanukovych, and replacing him with one who was keen on war with Russia. So, if Washington understands that dialogue with Russia and China is necessary for global security, why isn't that same principle consistently applied to countries like Iran, Venezuela, Yemen and Cuba?

Over $2 billion dollars worth of cargo will sit idle on October 30th as workers from across 100 ports (and counting) will protest against Israeli weapons shipments. In one of the largest coordinated day of actions observed in history - spanning four continents - dockworkers will unite to reject their labor being used for the transfer of weapons of war, specifically weapons used Isra*l for its g*nocid* in G*za. According to the "No Harbour for Genocide" website, dockworker demands are the following: •An immediate end to the genocide of the Palestinian people and all imperialist wars; •No arms, ammunition, military equipment or troops sent to war through their ports; •No ports turned into military bases, no to rearmament and the war economy; •Instead of weapons budgets: health and safety measures, real wages, secure jobs, and no automation in place of dockworkers. The demands, known as the "Istanbul Declaration," are signed and endorsed by the following unions: ENEDEP (Greece), USB (Italy), LAB (Basque Country), ODT (Morocco), Liman-İş (Türkiye) and CGT (France), SEGDAMELIN-PEO (Cyprus) and WTWFI (India). @ProgIntl

A Thread 👇🏿 Newly leaked images, videos, and eyewitness accounts from US military personnel, contractors, and military families reveal the extent of damage U.S. forces suffered from Iranian mis*ile strikes during the most violent exchanges of the U.S.-Isr*eli war on Iran. MeidasTouch and VALOR Media Network published the photos, which show destroyed hangars, buildings, vehicles, and aircraft from the now-defunct Fifth Fleet base in Bahrain to Jordan's Muwaffaq Salti Air Base. These photos also suggest that some CENTCOM statements - as well as statements of Defence Ministries of various Arab countries hosting US bases- claiming that all Iranian projectiles were intercepted may have been false claims. The destroyed hangars and buildings suggest not only advanced Iranian weapons capabilities, but also intelligence capabilities and possible satellite surveillance. One statement given to MeidasTouch says, "We are sitting ducks." Another statement describes the details of an Iranian drone attack: “You can’t see them at night. They have no lights and are GPS-navigated via coordinates. It sounds exactly like a small Cessna. Looks like a large falcon if it’s about 400 feet up. We had no defence against the drones.” Soldiers also reported overextended deployments, saying they were scheduled to go home, had thrown away their hygiene products, but were given surprise orders extending their stay. The planning and logistics against the Iranian retaliation were so catastrophic that, according to the article, "In Kuwait, sources said that after the initial attacks, some service members scattered into the desert and lived out of a van for three months until they could be sent home."
