The contributions sourced from IEK's nationwide network of engineers across various sectors aim to support families affected by the floods. Each aid package contains food items and essentials designed to sustain a family for approximately 10 days

Engineers play a critical role in mitigating the effects of climate change, such as the extreme weather currently manifesting in Kenya.
This morning, I met the Association of Consulting Engineers of Kenya (ACEK) led by the Chairperson Eng Jane Mutulili.
Coming at a time when floods have had a devastating impact on the lives and livelihoods of Kenyans, the meeting agreed on how consulting engineers can use their knowledge and skills to help institutions plan well for the future and incorporate climate resilience into major infrastructure.
The meeting noted that the ACEK membership has the skills to contribute towards spatial planning. It can also be an authoritative voice during public discussions and is able to mobilise advanced technical skills at short notice to help in specific situations.
We agreed on how the Ministry can support the local engineering consulting industry to compete effectively with firms from around the world for local assignments.
Also present at the meeting were ACEK Vice Chairperson Prof Lawrence Gumbe, Hon Treasurer Eng Timothy Musiomi and Council Members Eng Paul Ochola, Eng Oscar Wafula, Eng John Jairo and Ag CEO Eng Barbara Adhoch.

The construction of the MCH Complex at Ratta Health Center in Kisumu is currently in progress. As the project's Contractors Project Manager, our role involves providing support to the contractor in contract administration, overseeing cost control, and ensuring quality control.
