okay here's a problem.
all this self-work has done a great job at reducing the amount of fear i generally carry with me.
but it also means i've lost motivation to do stuff that fear drove me to do.
i kinda feel this way about my creative pursuits, namely software dev.

love this.
during my "awakening journey" (idk whether to call it that) over the past couple years i've come to rely too heavily on protoscientific concept-maps to explain reality without actually confronting it.

It feels like a little victory.

people are individual human beings with endlessly rich and interesting personal histories and lives, difficulties, challenges, uncertainties, confusions. When we steamroller all of that with our urgent neediness to generalize, we discourage them from connecting with us as humans

i think the ideal for most software engineers is to work on a project that has infinite budget and no users

idea: a gameshow called Imposter Syndrome where you take 10 senior developers and tell them that one of them is actually just a sales guy who's been taught to say DevOps buzzwords. to win, they have to figure out who the fake dev is. the trick: there is no sales guy

I started a new experiment with my new “one sec” Shortcuts Automation app: it enforces to take a deep breath before opening social media. After two weeks of use, my screen time is down by more than 40%:

Stories are spirits. Your spirit is your soul is your self is the story of your life as you tell it to yourself.
Spiritual health is about learning to control what stories you allow yourself to tell yourself, choosing those that make you grow in positive ways.

I made a joke in another about all of the autistics being postrats now, but I do want to explore a little bit of what I mean. I'm picking on rationalists a bit today, and I'd like to augment my critique with an alternative that some of them may find compelling.
