Today, Amazon Connect Talent is generally available. I have wanted to write this sentence for a long time.
Two out of ten.
That is how many good-fit candidates the average recruiter I met actually got to talk to. The newest screening tools, and still eight good people lost to a resume filter. Then a few of the two slip away too, because nobody waits a week for a scheduling link when another company will talk today.
100s of similar conversations came down to one unfair choice: hire fast, or hire well.
Every interested candidate gets a real interview, on their own schedule, day or night. A recruiter shapes it with an AI teammate, turning a role into the competencies that predict success. The AI interviews. The recruiter reads the transcripts and scores, and makes the call. Always.
Recruiters get their time back for the work only they can do. Candidates get a fair shot instead of silence.
To the customers who told me the hard truth, the Amazon PXT teams who inspired us, and the product team who made the impossible ship: thank you. Today we share it with the world.

.@amazon has believed in giving customers choice across AI models for years. We have always supported open-weight models on Amazon Bedrock, starting back in 2023, and will continue to advocate for open ecosystems.
No single model will define AI leadership. Customers need access to the most capable frontier models, alongside open-weight models they can adapt, optimize, and deploy for their own workloads.
Open and closed models are complementary. Together, they expand access to AI, accelerate innovation, strengthen competition, and give organizations greater control over the technology they build.
Successful leadership in AI will not be built around a single model or a single approach. It will be built on broad choice and the infrastructure to run those models securely, reliably, and at scale.
While there are elements of the Open Weights and American AI Leadership letter that need further definition over time, we’re supportive of the macro direction and have signed it.

📄 The world's first résumé wasn't created by a recruiter. It was written over 540 years ago.
In 1482, a then 30-year-old Leonardo da Vinci wrote to the Duke of Milan looking for a job.
What did he lead with?
❌ Not his paintings.
❌ Not the Mona Lisa.
❌ Not "I'm passionate and hardworking."
Instead, he spent almost the entire letter demonstrating the value he could create:
• Build military technology
• Design bridges and fortifications
• Solve impossible engineering problems
• Innovate under pressure
Only near the very end did he casually mention:
"Oh, and I can also paint and sculpt."
That single letter is widely regarded as the first modern résumé and job application in history.
The lesson still holds true 544 years later: People don't hire your credentials. They hire the problems you can solve.
Your résumé shouldn't tell people who you are. It should convince them why they need you.
Save this as a reminder before your next résumé update.

Every May for Global Month of Volunteering, tens of thousands of our teammates around the world show up for the communities where we live and work. Was lucky to join a group of them to prep meals at Community Lunch on Capitol Hill in Seattle, a nonprofit that serves free, made-from-scratch meals to low-income and unhoused community members.
We spent the morning chopping lettuce, peeling carrots, dicing onions, portioning fruit and overnight oats, mashing potatoes, and making salads, helping the kitchen crew get ready to serve 200-300 neighbors (something they've been doing every weekday for more than 40 years). Nearly 2,000 Amazonians have volunteered here since our partnership started in 2023.
It's great to see our teammates partner in their communities. Last year, Amazonians participated in more than 500,000 volunteer activities across 55 countries: helping restore polluted ecosystems, joining classrooms to teach students about AI, supporting local food banks, and helping neighborhoods recover from wildfires, just to name a few.
Proud of all our teammates across the company who make this kind of commitment, not just during Global Month of Volunteering, but all year round. It makes a meaningful difference for a lot of folks.
