I told my wife before this call that Chris Guggenheim is on my Mount Rushmore of Austin entrepreneurs. At the end of our interview, I got to tell Chris too. He's been in ecommerce since 1997. He built Pat Green's website at 18, in college, then Willie Nelson's. Then he started OneLive, and now ClearJet. I'm a serial entrepreneur too, and what he's done is a whole other level. I'm trying to get there one day. My last question was a personal one. What keeps him going from great company to great company, taking bigger and bigger swings? He said it's an innate drive to build things, and a lot of his partnerships came from just asking. United Airlines, Beyoncé and Willie Nelson all happened that way, and he didn't know anybody. When people ask how he got his foot in the door, he tells them, "You have to make your foot go in the door." And get used to 99% of people not responding. It was a real treat to sit down and pick his brain. Thanks Chris, and thanks Peter Hillowe and the ClearJet team for making it happen. New on our Engineering blog: Creating in-house source control. In May, we merged around 2,500 code changes per day. In September, we merged more than 30,000 per day. As a result, we became bottlenecked by developer infrastructure built for human (rather than agent) scale. Here, we share how we built a new version control system—and fully migrated our monorepo from git—in five months: anthropic.com/engineering/re…

The fact that you can't track Claude Code usage across multiple accounts live is infuriating @claudeai @claude_code @bcherny

Drop your Fable 5.1 effort to medium and have it orchestrate subagents in sonnet or opus. Loop adversarial agents to review all work as it gets completed. Hooks to update docs/processes/memories on completion. Rinse and repeat.

I was thinking about it today, and it's funny how the realization of the true capability of frontier AI models impacts people differently depending on their life outlook and priors. Some people realize that they can get 3x as much done with half the time and work, and are thrilled by this. More output, less input, what's there not to like? And then there are people like me, who realize that they now have massive leverage on their own personal effort, and so turn the effort up higher than ever to fully capture this. The way I think about it is like this: imagine it's 2005 and you just graduated from college (I did, actually, with a math degree). Suppose school just ended and now it's summer, and it just so happens that 33 of your smartest math buddies are just hanging around for a couple of weeks with nothing much to do. You have an inspired idea for a crazy software development project, and you're somehow able (via Steve Jobs level voodoo) to recruit all of them to work for 18 hours a day on your project, just for the fun and glory of it. You just need to provide them some pizza and Coke Zero, and they'll even bring their own laptops. It would be pretty silly to tell them to all clear out of your house at 6pm so you could relax and watch a movie, right? You'd want to leverage that incredible resource to achieve greatness. Well, that's what every day is like for me now with 22 Claude Max accounts and 11 GPT Pro accounts (my 4 Gemini Ultra accounts are like the smart freshmen who you don't trust to write the code but they're good at reviewing the code for weird bugs and edge cases). They come with their own compute (in some remote data center that Messrs. Altman and Amodei are losing their shirts on, much to our benefit), and you only need to pay them a pittance of around $7/day, not even as much as the pizza-and-Coke-Zero money. And while your math buddies might be smart in general, they're probably not world-class programmers and don't know, let alone understand how to apply, essentially all mathematics ever created. I know what choices I'd make. Usually, when people have those sorts of insights, they greedily keep them private to squeeze out the alpha for themselves. But I want to share my strategy, my workflows, my tools, and my prompts with everyone. Most people won't know what to do with them or realize that this is a special opportunity, but for the ones who do, I want to help you succeed. You can find all my tools for free on agent-flywheel.com and on my GitHub profile. I've realized that it brings me just as much satisfaction to see other people doing well using my resources, and I think there's a narrow window for these things to have alpha anyway, before the AI gets so good that it can do all this stuff out of the box. So try to have an open mind and give these things a try.

We talk a lot about wrestling rules and how people learn the easiest way to win given the ruleset. The Dagestan fighters have done this with MMA. It's not exciting. But they don't care about exciting. They care about winning and money. Great defense, takedowns, lock hands, press agains the cage, figure 4 the body, all things that became illegal in folkstyle because they were too effective. It's just a game of control and accumulating points and ultimately, getting their hand raised. I'd be interested to hear Dana White's unfiltered thoughts because it's surely not the MMA he wants to see and fans pay to see. But you can't beat them because they are masters of the ruleset, which a huge part of is being excellent at wrestling.

Crazy how many successful 3PL owners I know have a story similar to this. Build the plane on the runway, fail fast, and try not to make the same mistake twice.
Fake it til you make it Less than 5 years ago, we ordered a printing press for our apparel business. We’d never printed before. It was a $100k + gamble. $100k we didn’t have. We somehow got a lead that needed 3k shirts printed per month. We said we could do it (we had no idea if we could). The press wasn’t installed yet The press got delayed and the deadline was fast approaching. We had to work 7am - midnight for 5 straight days to finish the job (we were so slow lol) But. We got it done. Somehow the team didn’t quit on the spot, and somehow the client stayed with us for 2 years. Growing from 3k to 12k shirts a month in that time. What a time. The hustle still exists today, just a little less chaotic lol
