Regarding the VGen broker purge, I hope people can extend some grace to those who unknowingly commissioned these accounts.
Not everyone knew these brokers existed, much less how to recognize the warning signs.
These were people who went to a platform believing they were supporting artists and commissioning art ethically. They were trying to do the right thing and were deceived.
Some people may initially feel defensive or embarrassed when they realize they were fooled, and it can be difficult to admit that. We should respond by educating people about the warning signs rather than shaming them for being scammed. Direct your frustration toward those who exploited that trust, not the people who acted in good faith.

So I've been seeing all the vgen account being suspended, what's gonna happened to the people that commissioned them? Like I commissioned someone but their account was suspended, do we get our money back?? Btw they didn't have a broker label so idk π€·ββοΈ

And what do you know? The account I got my first l2d model from is banned for misrepresenting themselves as an individual artist at the time I commissioned them, when they were really part of that JRUHUB broker shit. And I have no idea if they even used AI or stole the art.
I would never have agreed to it if they branded themselves as what they are, but they materially misrepresented themselves that way, and only after the fact did they try to rebrand as a studio. Now I'm out several hundreds of dollars, it was done through vgen payments and the payment was already released so vgen won't help, and I have tried to charge back via my bank repeatedly, but my bank won't play ball.
Guess I learned the hard way not to trust sites like vgen with the sheer amount of accounts I commissioned in the past that got suspended as part of the crackdown on misrepresentation, not just this one.
Update regarding community safety on VGen
UNETHICAL BROKERS:
Happy to say weβve identified many previously unconfirmed JRUhub brokers, affiliates, and other unethical group accounts and they have all been banned for misrepresenting the nature of their profiles and services, intentionally inviting bad actors, and ban evading.
Big thank you to everyone in our community who has helped to investigate, report on-site, and provide detailed proof that our team were then able to review and take action on. Thank you for helping us keep the community safe!
REMAINING BROKERS:
In the short term, broker discovery has been rebalanced, their withheld funds processed through VGen Payments may not be released until after a commission is complete, and all brokers will continue to not have any invite codes. If any broker accounts mistype themselves as an individual or studio, they will now be suspended for at least 1 month immediately upon discovery.
We are still evaluating whether additional long-term actions are required.
Please do not assume all brokers are bad. However, if you do see suspicious behaviour, please continue to report them on-site and we will investigate.
ARTIST INVITE CODES:
There is now a hard limit of 2 unused artist invite codes per Verified Artist at any given time. If you earn more through a challenge or special event drop and you already have 2 in your dashboard, you wonβt receive any more.
ARTIST CODE GIVEAWAYS:
Effective Nov 1, 2026, general contests, raffles, or applications are no longer allowed, even if recipients are screened. This is due to the increasing sophistication of groups who fraudulently misrepresent themselves as individuals.
If you see someone hosting a raffle or are in violation of our Artist Code Policy in any way, please report them on-site with a screenshot or link to their violating post and weβll investigate. Their first offence will result in a warning before more severe administrative actions may be taken for repeated offences, including losing verification status and suspensions.

I just want to say real quick
There's a way to constructively criticize someone that doesn't have this air of thinking your shit doesn't stink
I get the algos of tiktok, instagram, and youtube shorts favor arrogance and condescension, instant engagement, whatever 1/2
But it really comes off as super smug and arrogant when content creator guru type creators respond to people presenting unique cases, interesting additions to the topic, or genuine criticisms about the state of social media algorithms with "You have no right to talk, you're doing this thing and that thing wrong, this thing and that thing, and that's why I'm successful and you aren't" or open up their advice with "You're an idiot for not doing this" or "You're doing everything wrong, here's how it's really done".
Yeah, algos love that, but I can tell you nothing turns me off harder than that type of attitude.
