Please remember it is against college policy to turn your in-person course into a hybrid course. Also, please make sure all your lectures are recorded and accessible in real time and that they are asynchronously available online for students who need them and can’t attend!

Teaching is perhaps 100x harder than we expect. The common misconception is that it’s about sharing your knowledge; it’s not. Rather, it’s about understanding what’s in the student’s mind, modeling that in your mind, building a bridge from the student’s mental state to yours.

Since lockdown, I've been turning my focus (literally) on to the details of my local landscape. This is a Thick-legged Flower Beetle (Oedemera nobilis) on a Bramble flower. Five minutes from my front door.
