Announcing Primateria, an AI-native scientific lab.
We’re starting with one of the hardest problems in quantum mechanics: the electronic Schrödinger equation.
Our first model tackles it in transition metals, a notoriously difficult regime.

we like to think national parks measure natural beauty.
but they also measure where americans live and how far they’re willing to drive.
foreign born prisoners are overrepresented in France, Germany, Italy and Norway
but underrepresented in the US, UK, Australia, and Sweden
sometimes the most interesting thing about a dataset is how little it tells you
almost half of German electricity is wind and solar.
but it chose to retire nuclear before coal
their "Energiewende" (energy transition) is in full swing, but they could have been almost carbon free by now
I didn't realize H1Bs were so Indian skewed (and have been for 10+ years).
There's an ~85k / year cap on new H1Bs but If you want to get an employer sponsored green card (EB2/3) there's a nationality cap and wait:
~2 years for most
5 years for Chinese
134 years for Indians
source since the number seems so ridiculous cato.org/blog/18-million-emp…
TIL: ~94% of Chinese population lives on ~43% of its land
an area the size of the entire EU, as dense as Japan
TIL: New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Nevada have some of the most outdoor-friendly climates in the US.
Many of the world's largest islands seem clustered in the Arctic and Indonesian archipelago
Both were once continuous landmasses born from ice.
The Arctic was carved apart by glaciers over millions of years.
Indonesia's Sunda Shelf flooded when that same ice melted, isolating its volcanoes and mountains into islands.
One archipelago frozen into being.
The other, melted into existence.
Papua New Guinea's 10 million people speak 840 languages (12% of the world's total!)
Sliced by mountains, valleys, and no navigable rivers, the island of New Guinea (shared with Indonesia) has long existed as a group of separate worlds only a few miles apart. Even today, the primary languge tok pisin (an English creole) is only just starting to reach into the jungle.
