Watching PMQs, strikes me once again how grateful we should be to David Cameron for closing the Europe question via a referendum once and for all.

No hay NINGÚN presidente en el mundo que sea tan querido como Claudia Sheinbaum.
En México tenemos a la mejor presidenta del mundo.

Lula famously compromised much of his previous radical positions in favor of a more pragmatic approach to win and maintain power. His Vice President is literally center-right. He wrote a letter to foreign investors promising pro-market policies when he first won as Prez in 2002.

“Vou te dizer uma coisa: vai dar tudo certo.
Não vai ser fácil. Vai ter perseguição. Vão atentar contra a nossa soberania. Vai ter gente rica torcendo para você não aguentar, mas você nunca vai abrir mão da sua dignidade.
Aguenta, companheiro, que o povo vai vencer.”

LULA AND RISA 🇧🇷🇵🇭✊
Lula’s first presidential victory in Brazil in 2002, on his fourth attempt, inspired us as we launched Risa Hontiveros’ senatorial bid in 2010. We closely studied the victory of our sister party, the Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT), and even sent a study group to learn from their experience.
That victory taught us a powerful lesson. Electoral defeats are not the end of the road. Despite Risa’s losses in the 2010 and 2013 senatorial elections, we refused to give up. Inspired by Lula’s journey, we kept pushing against the ceiling until we finally broke through.
In 2016, Risa Hontiveros finally won a Senate seat. In 2022, she was re-elected, becoming the only candidate from the democratic opposition to win a Senate seat. And in 2025, Akbayan made history by garnering the highest number of votes ever received in Philippine partylist elections.
Today, the world celebrates Lula’s fourth presidential election victory, a remarkable come-from-behind triumph that reminds us that setbacks need not be the end of our story. With perseverance, conviction, and the courage to rise after every defeat, even the steepest setbacks can become stepping stones to victory.
Lula’s victory taught us that lasting electoral victories are built on the power of working people, strong and enduring political parties, the willingness to learn and unlearn, and the courage to persevere alongside the people even when the odds are stacked against us.

Some catches: In the expanded list, Sen. Tulfo at 28% and FVP Robredo at 25% are tied as the leading picks among pro-Marcos voters, followed by Duterte at 12%, Bong Go at 11%, Hontiveros at 7%, and Teodoro at 6%.
Among Independents: Duterte 32%, Robredo 21%, Tulfo 14%, Aquino 5%.
In a three-way race (among pro-Marcos voters): Robredo is at a near-majority 48%, Duterte at 28%, while presumed administration bet Teodoro is only at 15%.
Very close among Independents, with a 5-pt gap: Duterte 43%, Robredo 38%, Teodoro 4%.
For head-to-head matchups:
Pro-Marcos voters back Robredo by more than 2:1: Robredo 61%, Duterte 25%. Against Baste Duterte, it’s Robredo 71%-21%.
Among Independents, the same 5-pt gap: Duterte 46%, Robredo 41%. However, if it’s Baste Duterte, Robredo leads Independents by double digits, +13%.
Pro Duterte and the Opposition
Senators Padilla 39%, Bong Go 24%, and Marcoleta 16% are the main VP picks among pro-Duterte voters. If Baste replaces Inday, his support is at 80%, considerably lower. Robredo receives 15% in this scenario (among pro-Duterte voters).
A majority of opposition voters support Robredo in the expanded list, with 52%, followed by Duterte at 12%, Aquino at 10%, Hontiveros at 7%, Bong Go at 6%, and Tulfo at 5%.
In the matchups, Robredo is at 81-84%. The top VP picks from the opposition bloc are all senators: Bam Aquino at 29%, Kiko Pangilinan at 21%, Raffy Tulfo at 18%, and Risa Hontiveros at 17%.

I have to say, now is a great time to attend a Trump rally because you’ll have multiple opportunities of near silence amidst the small, lifeless crowds to tell this failed dipshit that he just fuckin sucks and have him actually hear you

The history of the pre-YouTube, pre-Facebook Internet is like World War 1, it changed everything but gets overshadowed by what came next. If you were old enough to remember it you're not considered a relevant demographic by any advertisers (this ad is aimed at people who were children in 2006) so it's always going to be a subject of niche interest despite its importance, again not unlike WW1.
