I've been studying the rock textures in this game, and something about the subtle color variations on up-facing surfaces REALLY scratches an itch in my brain! 😆 Rather than one flat color, the small shifts in tone give the rocks so much more depth and personality. Love this!

SOMETIMES... only sometimes, I slightly regret deciding on a smaller 38px-tall base sprite 🥲 Even 10px extra opens up a WORLD of detail/expression! Ultimately, I prioritized world/equipment/combat expression, leaving the rest to the imagination. Still a little salty tho XD

The animation quality here is incredible!! 🤩 We've actually had the pleasure of working with @WidseyLabs on some of our own animations, so I can personally vouch for the talent! Seriously, go give this artist a follow if you haven't already! ❤️

🏜️ Trying to make these dunes feel more than just yellow sand Testing warmer highlights, cooler shadows, and subtle color transitions to give our desert terrain more depth. Does the contrast feel right or would you push it further?

Man, there's just something magical about rays of light shining into a room... I remember being mesmerized by this kind of lighting in Splinter Cell YEARS ago, and it still gets me today! No idea how we're gonna pull this off in our game yet, but WE'RE GONNA! 😤

Random thought -- I have one of those wall workout machines at home, but I find I still like going to a physical gym. I think it's because of the peer pressure to do a good workout when around other people. Curious if anyone's tried a virtual workout group for home-gym setups?

🛡️ WE FINALLY HAVE A WORKING GUARD STANCE! Turns out splitting upper/lower arms wasn't enough. The legs needed the same treatment.. then each side needed its own split.. so EVERYTHING is separate 😂 NOW onto equipment! Again. Sorta 😅 #gamedev #indiedev #animation #pixelart

1 limb apparently wasn't enough D: Some poses cause a limb to overlap itself in 3D, so now we gotta split 'em into upper + lower sections.. It's funny how EVERY TIME we get closer to finishing this, we discover one more little rule it needs 😂😭 #gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

Even if some of these are reusable tiles/assets, this scene feels completely custom-built for this -exact- location! The stone circle, winding water, waterfall, vegetation... it has SO much personality! This is the magic I want from modular assets ❤️
