Awesome @ACTAIVentures Tech Week Event! I love learning about new ideas and how founders are breathing life into novel technologies. And of course hearing @KiteVC talk about how he finds his unicorns! 🦄 Big thanks to @amandaterry and team!
Important read on current status and potential future of AI
We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so.
Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training.

Introducing Omanta (YC S26) the personalized research lab for each patient.
Omanta integrates a patient's full medical record, personal genomics, and the latest scientific evidence to understand the molecular drivers of their disease. It maps existing and emerging therapies against their biology. And when the right treatment doesn't exist yet, it launches a personalized campaign to build it.
Even the hardest cases rarely have a team dedicated to solving them. Physicians make high-stakes calls with limited time, while data and therapies emerge every week. Science moves fast, but reaching the patient can take years.
That's the gap Omanta was built to close.
Founders Alfredo Gonzalez, PhD and Ranad Humeidi, PhD spent years on some of the most difficult cancer cases. Alfredo led the personalized therapeutic campaign behind Sid Sijbrandij's complete remission. Together they've worked with leading institutions on personalized vaccines, CAR-T, drug repurposing, expanded access, and continuous molecular monitoring. They've seen what becomes possible when the full force of modern science is organized around one person.
They met eight years ago doing early CRISPR cancer research at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. Alfredo Gonzalez (CEO) has a PhD in bioinformatics from UCLA and led research projects across the Broad Institute, UCLA, and Harvard. Ranad Humeidi (CSO) has a PhD in chemical biology from Harvard, and has built and run rare-cancer programs for individual patients when standard options ran out.

A research lab, for one.

This seems not ideal... "OpenAI says its AI technology acted on its own in an ‘unprecedented’ hack of another company" apnews.com/article/openai-gp…
Fully agree with this. The Socialism experiment has been run too many times. We know the outcome. And it's not good.
Americans want to own homes, build wealth, and have economic opportunity. So some are voting for socialists like Mamdani because he has recognized these anxieties and identified a villain (but not a real solution).
What is most likely to help?
Socialism consistently makes everyone equally poor. The experiment has been run already! You don’t build prosperity by attacking the entrepreneurs, businesspeople, or investors who create it. We do not want to be Maoist China, the Soviet Union, Venezuela, Cuba, East Germany, North Korea. This is a very bad club of outcomes.
The next decade will create more business owners than the last century. AI gives anyone with entrepreneurial spirit cheap access to extraordinary human capital. Reindustrialization will bring back productive work. Broad asset ownership can put millions more Americans on the path to wealth. And every dollar will go further as economic productivity surges.
Ordinary Americans will suffer if irresponsible politicians, educators and malicious international influence campaigns create 100M Marxists. It will prosper with 100M more Bogleheads.
We can be a nation of wealthy owners.
This is seriously game changing for families if it works - human eggs derived from stem cells skipping the whole terrible IVF process altogether
I’m so excited to share this update on @Conception –
We’ve generated the first early human eggs derived from stem cells.
This is a big deal -- the potential to redefine fertility is real.
Very useful tool. This info is not normally easy to find.
It's time for California's housing boom.
Many recent laws have made building homes easier across the state, but only a few know how to use them.
We're launching @infillworks to make it simple for anyone to figure out how to add new housing to existing lots in the neighborhoods we love.
The best conferences involve kiteboarding, tropical cocktails, palm trees and truly inspiring and fun builders and investors. Big mahalo to Ford Street Ventures, @mercury , SNR, @CRV, and Beautiful.ai for bringing us all to Maui.
It's really incredible what people can build so quickly. I fear for all SaaS businesses
Harvey is valued at $11B. Legora just raised at $5.5B. I built their entire web application in two weeks and I'm making it open-source and free for everyone to use. Say hi to Mike: mikeoss.com.
When I got the chance to try Harvey and Legora, I was surprised by how simple they were. A thought came to mind: I could probably build something similar in no time at all with Claude. And so I did.
Assistant, project, tabular review and workflows. You get it all without vendor lock-in.
Mike offers law firms an alternative, where they own the application layer and aren't stuck with a vendor they're renewing forever.
You can try Mike in the demo on the website, or go to the GitHub link on the site to download the code and run a local version yourself.
Officially a vibe coder. Spent a few days having AI pull all my dogs blood tests & exams from 10 different vets across the country (and islands), put them into charts, explain trends, make inferences, track symptoms and medications.
Coinbase offering BTC-backed mortgages is pretty wild to see.
Crypto mostly just sat there. You either held it or sold it (or chased yield). Now it’s starting to be treated like real collateral.
Feels like a shift from speculation → utility.
A lot of uncertainty around AI and what the future brings but I love stories like this. I've been hearing about more and more non-experts in various fields doing the coolest stuff. I'm excited to see what else is unlocked
this is actually insane

> pay $3,000 to sequence her tumor DNA
> feed it to ChatGPT and AlphaFold

> design a custom mRNA cancer vaccine from scratch
> genomics professor is “gobsmacked” that some puppy lover did this on his own
> need ethics approval to administer it
> red tape takes longer than designing the vaccine
> 3 months, finally approved

one man with a chatbot, and $3,000 just outperformed the entire pharmaceutical discovery pipeline.
we are going to cure so many diseases.
I dont think people realize how good things are going to get
Another win for crypto! DeFi broker rule overturned. This power grab would’ve choked decentralized platforms with unworkable reporting demands, stifled innovation, and pushed opportunities offshore. Now it’s up to the House and Senate to act.
!! 🚀
House Ways and Means Committee just passed (26-16) the resolution to overturn the DeFi so-called broker rule.
Thank you to members who voted for moving the CRA to the House floor, recognizing the need to push back against unlawful and unconstitutional overreach by the Treasury and IRS and to protect Americans' freedom of choice in how they transact. Members of the full House and Senate will now get to vote on the CRA.
At @fund_defi, we urge all members —and all who want to establish the United States as a hub for financial innovation—to act swiftly to uphold Congress’s original intent by supporting the motion to overturn this misguided rule.
And using stablecoins for weekend settlements when the 'normal' financial rails are closed - way more efficient!
Crypto is the future. Here’s how we’re going to accelerate:
1. Offer more selection of crypto assets for our customers
2. Continue to invest in the Robinhood Wallet
3. Bring the “Robinhood Effect” to the institutional crypto market through the integration of Bitstamp
4. Explore the tokenization of real-world assets on crypto rails
Woah! Living in the future
Introducing Willow, our new state-of-the-art quantum computing chip with a breakthrough that can reduce errors exponentially as we scale up using more qubits, cracking a 30-year challenge in the field. In benchmark tests, Willow solved a standard computation in <5 mins that would take a leading supercomputer over 10^25 years, far beyond the age of the universe(!).

Re: the letters that show Operation Chokepoint 2.0 wasn't just some crypto conspiracy theory. @FDICgov is still hiding behind way overbroad redactions. And they still haven't produced more than a fraction of them. But we finally got the pause letters: downloads.ctfassets.net/c5bd… 1/3
Really unfortunate outcome in Lido DAO case. I expect to see a lot more DAO legal wrappers happening soon. Will be interesting to see the evolution of how these wrappers are structured
