Green Bay Packers 2026 penalty numbers, specifically on all-important THIRD DOWN plays & in the FOURTH QTR of games The #Packers lead the #NFL in 4TH qtr penalty per game avg, recording historically high numbers in this category Compounding that, the @packers have off-the-charts numbers surrendering AUTOMATIC 1ST DOWNS via penalty on THIRD DOWN plays (& primarily in the 4th qtr) None of this is news to Green Bay players/coaches or fans Three games in particular this season (@Vikings @Lions & vs Cowboys) were beyond ridiculous w' officiating in the 4th qtr of those contests There are many numbers I can detail going back two decades but ill use 2021/2025 five-yr data as comparison to highlight the statistical improbablity of the 2026 stats Green Bay is surrendering 1.71 AUTOMATIC 1ST DOWNS per game on THIRD DOWN To put that in perspective, over the past 5 seasons the next highest avg in this category is the 2023 Titans (0.94 per game) & the 2021 #Bills at 0.89 per game GB is averaging almost DOUBLE per game of the next highest penalized team over past 5 seasons in this category In the FOURTH QTR, Green Bay is surrendering 1.29 AUTOMATIC 1ST DOWNS via penalty in 2026 The next closest to that the past five seasons is the 2024 Commanders at 0.90 per 4th qtr The bulk of Packers ROUGHING THE PASSER & UNNECESSARY ROUGHNESS & ILLEGAL CONTACT penalties have occurred in the 4th qtr (see clip #GBvsMIN Week 1 w' Shawn Hochuli) For the record im not a Packers fan, just someone that studies data But I watch every game & the officiating in some GB contests this season has been diabolical late The general response is "just play better" so a bad call or calls have no impact on the final outcome That sounds great & im sure every team would love to be ahead 50-0 in the 4th so an atrocious UNNECESSARY ROUGHNESS penalty has zero impact But the fact is most games come down to the final 10 mins & if you're on the wrong end of bad calls in the 4th qtr & particularly on 3rd down, its near impossible to overcome Its up to Matt LaFleur & Packers hierarchy to inform @NFLOfficiating & start calling out the one-sided numbers The positive would be these numbers can't continue indefinitely & GB does have 6 more games at Lambeau Field, where they historically have received better treatment #GoPackGo

NIL robbed the pageantry on Saturday. Sunday is russian roulette with the officials. 2026, you’ve never paid so much and received so little

It gets exponentially worse if the AI maximalists get their way.
Interesting that almost every form of social activity has dropped over the last 30 years except going to concerts. That has increased and probably at a very high record level. Their value rose probably because the alternatives have weakened.

This is basically a vision of a personally tailored versificator from 1984. Their endgame is an even more atomized and lonely version of one of the great dystopias in literature.
I can’t stress enough that this would mean the complete extinction of human culture. You need art because it connects you to all who’ve gone before you; it challenges you to embrace perspectives not your own. Media generated to your exact preferences is the death of the soul.

Dario Amodei considers people opting out of AI-driven transformation of human life as a problem, perhaps a dystopian problem, needing to be "solved", on par with anti-vax. This is from the same essay, 'Machines of Loving Grace', in which he advocates that we become pets of the machines, and suggests video games as one of several alternate vectors of meaning to replace meaningful struggle and challenge.

UBI is communism. Handing the government that lever on control is idiotic. Meanwhile, anthropic and open ai guard their revenue numbers like state secrets because if we knew how low it was relative to cap ex, they would implode in seconds. These people masquerade as intelligent
I'm so surprised we're having all these AI debates without constantly mentioning UBI. Math folks fear progress not because AI is good, but because grants pay the bills. Devs love watching AI code, but fear they'll never work again. Where's the call for universal basic income?

AI seems on target to solve everything except the cost of living crisis, your health, having a good job, work life balance, or anything else that provides meaning and a high quality of life. A machine designed to give you everything you want but nothing you need.

Companies that are doing well just before an IPO don't: - Refuse to disclose their actual revenue - "Leak" overstated numbers to the press - Repeatedly push back the listing date - Raise huge "bridge" financing rounds - Claim existential risk to get gov monopoly protection

The tiny percentage of the world who works in software development, with rare exceptions, can only think in 1s and 0s and if/then decisions. It's crazy that we let this tiny minority of people set the rules for life which the other 99%+ of the population have to live by...
So many people on here seem to think the point of tech is to strip out what most people call life Shopping is living Reading is living Listening to music is living Being bored is living Existing is living Waiting is living Awkwardness is living Art is living A lot of people don’t seem to know how to feel joy. Or how to let life in They just know how to be productive We need a wholesale shift towards being able to enjoy looking at a plant. Or to wonder about materials or just look at light bouncing off a pool, or to get joy from the details or to ask questions and know people or to savor food , or enjoy touch. It’s the simple joys . It’s the journey. It’s the edges of life. It’s feeling something. It’s letting it all in. It’s thinking. It’s appreciating.

The AI maximalists want it to be conscious so badly they can’t stand when you call their baby (AI) ugly. You can’t help these people, they are beyond reach.
