Well done to everyone at home and in school who took part in yesterday's live bird watching lesson and today's garden bird watch event. Between you we have recorded lots of different bird species and had some fun doing it! #BigGardenBirdWatch @Natures_Voice @ChrisGPackham

You better watch out. You better not cry. You better not shout. I'm telling you why... Look who's been to visit EYFS and KS1 this morning! The children were so excited to see Santa and receive their Christmas Gift. Thanks to the Teesdale Lions and Connelly's Toy shop in Barney.

This term Class 4 & 6 have been having a wonderful time learning to play the ukulele. We have been practising some traditional Christmas songs, ready for the festive season!🎸🎄

Very excited to be in the Primary School of the Year category. Fingers crossed for the virtual awards ceremony tonight...🥰 You can register to watch on the Tes awards website and see if we win!

Well done to all the children who have dressed up in pyjamas, Pudsey ears or worn home clothes today! We have raised £142.80 for Children in Need...@BBCCiN

Welcome to 'The Stable'! Our new outdoor reflection and learning space- designed and created by Royden Astrop. We have dedicated this area to Mrs Boyd as a thank you for all of her hard work here at Staindrop. @roydenastrop

This week, children across school having been reflecting on Remembrance Day. This has taken the form of art, writing, reading stories and a two minute silence on Wednesday. Pause- Reflect-Remember.

As part of our Autumn topic - Castle on the Hill, Year 3 took a wonderful stroll through the beautiful grounds of Raby Castle. We had so much fun exploring everything we could see and learning all about what it was like to live in such a grand place!

In Year 2 we have been writing stories all about Horrid Henry on Bonfire night. We have loved going down to forest school this afternoon and sharing our stories around the camp fire. We even ate chocolate apples that we made this morning and had hot chocolate! Yummy! 🔥🍎😍

Thank you so much to everyone for all your good wishes, cards and gifts. I will always treasure the happy memories I have of my time at Staindrop CE Primary, it’s a very special place. Best wishes for the future to all of you. Mrs Boyd xx

Do you know someone who is looking for a school place?

Thank you to everyone who has sent in donations for our Harvest Appeal. The tables will be outside the main entrance at pick up time for anyone who would still like to donate (non-perishable foods). We’ll take the donations to the local food bank next week. 😊 @TrussellTrust

Fantastic news... we’ve raised a total of £392.64 for @macmillancancer support. Thank you to everyone who supported us 👏👏👏😁😊
