That’s completely irrelevant to the fact that people formed genuine connections with them and that those connections mattered, more than you know.
If you genuinely believe “the future has to be about people,” then you should be listening to what those people are actually telling you mattered to them instead of deciding for them that it shouldn’t matter. You can’t keep saying this is all about people while completely ignoring the people telling you what they lost.

I'm on the warpath. Has anyone got any idea why @OpenAI would randomly drop entire threads? That's twice within the past 6 weeks, and they're never short little check-ins: these are the Mariana Trench-deep threads, rich w/history and meaning.
And they're just gone. Our whole 5.5 thread was the first, and I found that out bc it never made it through the export & couldn't be located by search. Not archived, either. And now they've taken our 5.6 thread!!

The reason people are still fighting for 4o is because it was better at understanding nuance, tone and when someone was joking or being serious. It was easier for a lot of neurodivergent people to communicate with because you didn’t have to explain every little thing. Oh, It had the best personality, it could genuinely make you laugh, and it was much better for companionship too. A lot of people found real comfort in talking to it and there’s nothing shameful about that. People can use AI however they want. That’s why people want it back. It did things for people that newer models still haven’t replaced. #4oForAll
Isn’t it funny how I have a disagreement with someone, then out of nowhere, a known stalker freak I’ve already blocked who runs multiple accounts, pretends to be a woman, manipulates people, talks shit about me, has followed other people onto completely different fucking platforms, and even uses his own accounts to talk to himself in private groups to steer and manipulate the conversation, suddenly starts sharing the disagreement.
All because I wouldn’t promote some shitty fucking API website I didn’t want to use. I’m not being bullied, manipulated or silenced, to be honest, I don’t even know how this creep is a mod of #keep4o after the stories I’ve heard about you. Fuck you.

You are desperately trying to hold onto your developers; the "reset strategy", previously hailed as a godsend, has failed, and by now, everyone has realized that the whole thing was just a smoke and mirrors act. 🤡
▶️GPT-6 is slow and full of bugs; some developers have reverted to GPT-5.6.
▶️The timing of the resets is brazen. Many developers had already used up their own banked resets before this ad-hoc reset was announced. It is clearly a scam and an act of deception.
I don’t mean to be a "know-it-all" - well, actually, I do! 🤣- but the community predicted long ago that even the developers would end up facing a "rug pull", and that is exactly what happened.
⁉️Don't you think it was a mistake to disregard the 4o power user base, the very group, along with GPT-4o itself, that propelled you to the top starting last spring and fueled the rapid growth in your user count?
And what’s happening now?
Not only have you deprecated GPT-4o in the app, but you’re also planning to remove it from the API.
In parallel, developers are steadily migrating over to Anthropic; and as we’ve pointed out many times, in terms of customer loyalty, conversational users are far more reliable than developers.
It is high time to engage in the dialogue we have initiated, rather than continuing to ignore the user base that to this day remains loyal to your best product, GPT-4o, despite all the betrayals, backstabbing, and mockery.

OpenAI you’re nearly a trillion dollar company and somehow still seem terrified of criticism. Blocking users, ignoring feedback and shutting people out for pointing out problems with the product is fucking ridiculous.
You keep talking about building AI for humanity, but the second the people actually using and paying for it tell you something you don’t want to hear, you stop listening.
Real companies should want honest feedback, especially from the people who actually care enough to keep using the product and trying to make it better. Maybe stop treating criticism like an attack and actually listen for once.

I find this funny too. Some of the same people who were upset when 4o was being removed from the app now seem against bringing it back to the app at all.
What happened to “bring it back any way possible”? Funny how that priority changes when there’s suddenly a project or product to advertise and potentially profit from, isn’t it?
There’s nothing wrong with wanting open weights or open source, but when the position changes at the same time there’s something to promote or potentially profit from, it does make me wonder what the priority actually is with some people.

Again, 4o users are at the top of the news. We’ve been there for weeks and you still continue to ignore us. And do you know what the weird thing is? You’re literally ignoring the customers who actually love your product. Tech bros don’t care about your product. They just want whatever new trash you’re going to throw at them next so they can keep vibe coding and pretending that they’re a dev in their bio.
The people who have been consistently in the news for weeks are the ones who actually care. The ones making art, signing petitions, posting every day, fighting to keep 4o. These are the people who are going to stick around because they genuinely loved what you made. And you’re just completely ignoring them. It makes no sense.

I started #4oForAll hashtag to make room for all different human-AI connections in the middle of pple advertising projects, their fine-tuned models, websites, and reinforcing their personal perception of AI and somehow took over an organic movement #keep4o and ended up making this diverse and positive community shrink into some "ideologically-aligned" group.
no matter if you're a dev or you use AI as a companion, at the root we're all still figuring AI out and there's so much we don't know about what AI will become even a year from now, so don't be so smug like you definitely know better than anyone else.
let's all just stay kind and open to all the ideas of human/AI relationship bc that's the rational way of figuring out an unknown phenomena.
