Toronto used to feel like a place where ambitious people left. Lately it feels like a place where those same people are deciding to stay.
Every week there are more startups, more students hacking on side projects, more Socratica-inspired meetups.
The interesting part is how small the city suddenly feels. Just today I had so many coincidental encounters:
The guy running the hacker house I’ve been seeing on Twitter. The solo dev of an app I tried a few weeks ago. One of the Boardy fellows.
Once the density gets this high, things start compounding fast. Toronto feels like it’s right on the edge of that.
