As a teacher who has heard about the escalating racism at @UCBerkeley from several former students, I am extremely concerned and angered by the lack of urgency and accountability from university leadership. All students deserve to feel safe at school.

My sister has stage 4 cancer. The amount of time and anguish caused by fighting her insurance company to pay for the treatment it is supposed to cover is unconscionable. People who get rich off of denying care to the sick and dying deserve no sympathy.

Blue Cross Blue Shield in Connecticut, New York and Missouri has declared it will no longer pay for anesthesia for the full length of some surgeries.
It the procedure goes over a certain time, anesthesia will not be covered for the duration.
