My novel Escape! is now available for pre-order at stephenfishbach.com or escapefishbach.com (which sounds like a horror movie). I wrote a post about it and about my inspiration for writing it. open.substack.com/pub/stephe…

JCO agrees: ranking is arbitrary and reductive
tiresome Twitter "greatest"--"best"--"highest"--"most favorite"--everything hyperbolic, amplified. even a classicist mimicking the simpleminded either/or of MAGAspeak. maybe the "greatest" poem ever written is five lines long & was written by Emily Dickinson. why not?

Wonka on @netflix has a great mechanic, wherein the winner of the last challenge chooses the 'pole position' for the next challenge -- that person being either up for elimination or themself getting great power. Inherently creates a lot of dynamic flux between alliances.

can any #survivor historians help me, did I have any good confessionals about Savage in Cambodia? I know he had some great ones about me. (Trying to piece together something about how Survivor brings out the latent differences in people to create conflict) I had a lot of confessionals about Joe along those lines.

Every survivor winner ever has benefited from the production twists. Sandra only faces Lill in the final 2 of pearl islands bc of a twist. Aaron got voted out of china opening the path for Todd bc of a twist. Tony had the super idol in 28 bc of a twist. Parvati is only in a final 2 against Amanda instead of a final 3 with cirie bc of a twist.
Replying to @stephenfishbach
To be fair in Survivor 38 he only made it to the end because of a production twist that’s not in a normal season and that’s also the exact same reason most don’t like him this season

Literally, the exact same thing happened to him in Survivor 38, everyone was hating on him when it looked like he was destined for a win and then the narrative shifted when he lost (and then people really hated Chris) people hate the top dog
Idk why everyone is being a Devens hater - he played an amazing game since week 1 …his social game on point his comp wins all season various wins and his alliances and strategy was everything! He’s a great BB player and I’m happy and rooting for him in the winners circle! #bb28
