Away for a few days so limited options for #MovieChallenge 2025 - Week 15. But I found the suggested Wonder (2017) and thought it was a really sweet film. Another surprise discovered through these challenges!

This week's challenge was suggested by CineChum DaveRackliff. We're focusing on movies where inanimate objects either get name-dropped in the title or quietly carry the entire plot.

Only the Brave (2017)
Based on a true story which I didn't know of before watching. I think I appreciated it more going in blind.

Where we live the clocks have changed, the winter weather seems to be behind us, and the days getting warmer which inspires this week's "Fire" challenge.

Two more for #MovieChallenge 2025 - Week 13. A planned re-watch of M:I 4 Ghost Protocol directed by Brad Bird. And The Big Year which was a surprisingly good Sunday night watch. Coincidence that both were 2011 films.

My second film for #MovieChallenge 2025 - Week 13 was Almost Famous (2000), written and directed by Cameron CROWe. Really liked this one. Though I keep singing Tiny Dancer to myself 😅

I didn't have time to think this through before jumping into my Monday night viewing! But I had Blackberry (2023) on my watchlist and it met the criteria as it stars JAY Baruchel.

This week's challenge was suggested by @PirateDJ, and it's all about maths in the movies. Don't worry, you don't need to dust off your old textbooks, just spot maths-related themes, concepts, or characters in films

This week's all about celebrating women in film—because, one day isn't enough! International Women's Day was last week, but we were deep in the In Memoriam challenge, so we're making up for it now...

I'm going with a female director sub theme for #MovieChallenge 2025 - Week 11. I finally watched Lost in Translation (2003) which has been on my list since I visited Japan in 2017. I liked it a lot, though not quite as much as I expected.

I planned to re-watch Mission:Impossible 2 as I'm revisiting them all before the new film releases in May. Squeezed it in for #MovieChallenge 2025 - Week 10 with a screenplay credit for Robert Towne.

Following the 97th Academy Awards, we're continuing our annual tradition: watch a movie featuring the talents of someone from the Oscars In Memorium list, or someone they missed off the list.

#MovieChallenge 2025 - Week 10 completed with 2 Gene Hackman films. Hoosiers (1986) and Runaway Jury (2003). Random choices, rather than really big hitters. Enjoyed them both.

Struggling a bit with #MovieChallenge 2025 - Week 9 so I went with one of the suggestions. I watched Sneakers (1992). Found it a bit hard to get into but better as it went along. Funnier than I expected too.

Last week's challenge was all about fabrics and clothing, this week we're completing the ensemble with just the right accessory. Watch a movie where an accessory takes centre stage.

I went full on rom com for my second #MovieChallenge 2025 - Week 7 film. I watched Notting Hill (1999). It was OK. I didn't really feel much romance if I'm honest. Just seemed to lack spark.

St. Valentine’s Day this week, but don't worry you’re not stuck watching a rom-com. This week's challenge is all about films that center on a couple, a duo, or the evolution of a relationship/friendship

#MovieChallenge 2025 - Week 7 is a case of too many options and not enough time.
I went with True Romance (1993) one of the favourites of our challengers. A little more violent than my usual watches but I thought it was a great film and one I will re-watch.

Stand By Me (1986) which at 89 minutes just about counts as a short feature film. Amazingly it was a first time watch for me. I enjoyed it and am now off in search of more 80's classics 😅
