#100DaysOfCode Day 6-7 👩🏼‍💻 Today I got news that I got my first internship 🥳 🎉 as a software engineer! I start in January 🥹 oh and I’ve been busy setting up a new setup 💻 so I’m better equipped for more work at home next year 🥰 so not much coding but some great news! 🤠

I’m really excited to share that overnight I had the honour of receiving the Future Leader Award for Data Science in Australia presented by Quantium. There is no one size fits all for leadership, and I’ve met some really inspiring young people. The future is in good hands!🫶😊

I've finally finished my first full stack project 💪 A login portal using #MongoDB, #Express, #NodeJS + #ReactJS. I have learnt so much during this and grown as a dev! Next week I'm doing some more UI-based tasks and will probably learn Material.ui if anyone here has any tips!

This year I’ve set myself the goal of reading 50 books. My habit of reading has always been on again/ off again and I want to be consistent in 2023. Step 1: reading books I actually enjoy. Would anyone be interested in a weekly book review of what I’ve been reading?

#100DaysofCode Day 12 🔑 Today at work I made my first cookie 🍪 in #Node to authenticate users into protected pages. I also did some #Leetcode database questions as a refresher on SQL subqueries 😀 Hoping to have a demo-worthy personal portal for tomorrow!

#100DaysofCode Days 10-11 🔥 Been building an online Pig Game in #JavaScript for my Udemy course. Most of the stuff I did today was for my internship - incorporating MongoDB into my auth app. But the pig game is prettier right... 🤓😍

#100DaysOfCode Day 8-9 🌱 Built my first backend today as part of my login portal app with #NodeJS. Made API calls with Axiom and spent ~4 hrs working through mind boggling bugs 🐜🫠 feeling humbled. but I need to get better at backend so the practice is worth it! 😀

#100DaysOfCode Day 7 🫶 Worked on my app and added routing with #reactjs + a new returning users page. Now I need to build a backend using #NodeJS 🫠😰 Intimidated, but only because it’s new 🫣

#100DaysOfCode Day 6 👩🏼‍💻🌱 Got my first ever MERN Stack project underway 🚀👇 Created a login portal with React that checks all fields for valid inputs (char limit, no spaces, real email, etc.) Adding user verification via API call tomorrow. I’m learning so much so quickly😀🎉

#100DaysofCode Days 4-5 ☻ Got busy today at my internship learning the basics of Node.js and MongoDB. Starting a project tomorrow with MERN stack as my first project :) Starting to feel like a hardcore web developer 😎

#100DaysofCode Day 3 ☻ Added new functionality to my modal window so that key events can close the modal window. Used event listeners and the event object to achieve this! 😀

#100DaysOfCode Day 2 🤩 Learnt about designing Modals with JavaScript. Used event handlers and modifying CSS with JS to achieve this! 😀 Also started learning React today ahead of a project I have for my internship during next week 🌱💕

#100DaysOfCode Day ... 1 again? 😭☠️ Made a game using #JavaScript to guess a random number following my Udemy course. Practised: ✅ EventHandlers & EventListeners ✅ querySelectors ✅ DOM Manipulation

This is incredibly effective. Screens and especially social media are so much less engaging without colour 😯 Tried this and 10/10 recommend this for anyone trying to curb phone addiction!

Today I started to learn about DOM Manipulation and Event handling in JavaScript - project coming up over the next few weeks! Learnt about selecting html elements using a querySelector. Still on vacation with family ❄️⛷️🎿 but a little bit of coding here and there adds up!🫶😊

Does anyone have any recommendations for good quality blue light glasses? Thinking it could be a good investment for this year doing more work as a SWE!! 😊🌟

I planned to code this afternoon but am stuck in huge power outages in California and my data is slow af 😭😭 so maybe no coding today 🥺

#100DaysofCode Day 13 ☃️❄️ Spent some time configuring my VS code. - Designed some custom shortcuts for print statements in Javascript + Java (to save approx 1 second every time I type it ☠️) - Set up prettier on autosave - Custom comment keyword highlighting ⤵️

#100DaysOfCode Day 11-12 👾👩🏼‍💻 Learnt about: ✔️ For Loops ✔️ continue + break keywords ✔️ While Loops ✔️ Nested Loops & their syntax in #JavaScript 😀 All pretty familiar but good to see how it all works syntactically 😊🌟

On a family trip & didn’t get to code today 🌲 but sometimes disconnecting is really refreshing 🫶
