Do you have a favourite character that you voiced for? π€
I know we shouldn't have favourites, but we often have one that sticks in our mind as the one we loved portraying the most. π
So who is yours?
For me it has to be the one from my very first job as a voice actor. Celestine The Living Saint, from the song Celestine, which I worked on with Davey Perron of #UltraNightmare. π
Getting to be the warrior maiden, leading her troops into battle, is one thing, as its an archetype I love to play. But praising The Emperor and purging heretics on top of that was an added bonus. I was really able to let loose with this one. What a role for a 40K fan to have as their first job. π
Have a listen and see why I loved this character so much, and tell me all about your favourite character role so far, in the comments. π€

For a while, Iβve been exposing how bots manipulate algorithms, push narratives, and distort markets. When I helped take down the VNXNET bot network, things escalated.
Now, Iβm being targeted by a coordinated network that is not just arguing with me. They are mass-uploading my content across Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Minds, Pinterest, Rumble, Vimeo, Mix, BlueSky, and more. They post under people I interact with, twist my words, and try to discredit everything I say.
At first, I thought this was just retaliation from the VNXNET guy. But that does not add up. If this was just personal, why would this network try to discredit my coverage of EA bots? Or Disney? Or Warner Bros? Why would it activate every time I cover major bot-driven narratives? The more I expose, the more aggressive they get.
This is not random. This is not just one person with a grudge. The scale of this is too big, and the timing is too precise. Someone does not want this information out.
Iβve compiled just a fraction of the accounts involved. Look at the patterns. This is deliberate.
Share this post, people need to be made aware of this.
I was recently accused by a classmate at a script workout, that I never do happy scripts. π¨
In a joking way of course π€.
And you know what, they may be right, haha! π€
I had just brought an audition script for an audiobook about dementia. Sooo... yeah. π
It got me thinking, have I been typecast, by my regular clients already? Do I audition for these kind of sad characters or books because I have typecast myself? π¬
I went and looked at all the jobs I have done since starting out, and there was only 20% that had bits of positive emotion of any kind. But even then those positive emotions were restrained by the inherent relationship and power gap between my character and who they were talking with.
I went over my notes from when I analyse scripts upon booking a role. Here's a list I compiled of some of the main emotions my characters have had to go through:
- Shock
- Emotional Trauma
- Distraught
- Passive Aggressive
- Vengeful
- Hate
- Spite
- Jealousy
Which is strange because I'm usually quite a happy person π
So, it's not like I can't do happy. It's not like I'm auditioning for happy sounding jobs and not getting them, I just don't audition for them. π€«
Here's a piece I handed in to a long standing client, not too long ago, and they have kindly allowed me to share it, as it's getting rewritten. (Please excuse the mouth clicks it is very raw audio.) π
This character has just had best friend number 1 killed in front of her by best friend number 2, and best friend number 3 is trying to calm her down enough to run away. Enjoy. π
I think I shall endeavour to audition for more happy projects from now on. π
Have you analysed the type of roles you consistently get, or audition for? Doing so might shock you, or just reaffirm that you are a well balanced emotionally because you have a nice mix of characters. π
Let me know, in the comments, if you have noticed any sort of trend in your casting and auditioning habits. I would be very interested in hearing about them. βΊοΈ

This is what I do on Mondays π
This social club at a local sheltered housing estate, was in need of some young blood to help keep things going. π§
My mum, whom I care for, started going and I naturally went with her. π©βπ¦
Quickly finding myself accepted by this lovely bunch, calling out the bingo numbers, setting out the refreshments, and keeping the books. π’ β π
The Lord had put on my heart, some years ago, to serve others where I can, and this is the door he opened for me to do so.
Without someone to run the club it was close to being shut down, and none of us wanted that to happen. π
So now my Mondays are chockablock with fun and smiles. π
It has also helped me with my Voice Acting learning to project my voice across a room, as most of them are quite deaf, they appreciate that I can. π’
They all gave their permission to share a wee video with you all, saying "we better get lots of likes." π
So what do ya think? Have I got it in me to voice for a bingo gaming app π

So thankful to blessed with such a loving husband, @Paul_Usher_VA who I can tag team with in the recording booth.
We have done a few projects together now but this one was by far our biggest undertaking together.
Hereβs to more books together, my love.

I know it's a bit late, but i've been serving my time in the hospital ward. π
What a great week in London, and weekend at #ComicConLondon! π€©
The highlight of the weekend definitely being getting to meet my voice acting hero @emma_chorussea. It was a joy and an honour π
