I was at the @ngadc last weekend. Unfortunately the museum had to delay the Philip Guston Retrospective a week after I'd already planned the trip. But I got to see a glimpse of the outside of the exhibit which should be open now. Maybe I'll be able to get back before it closes.
Two Figures 9x12 Ink on Paper
*drawing from a few months ago. exploring the replacement of many lines for larger shapes. overdosing on old crime, and exploitation movies
Filming ink is difficult because I am accustomed to rotating the page often. However it does make me more expressive with fewer lines.
I started painting a few weeks ago after stopping for years. This is the first semi functional piece I've finished so far.
My affection for Fredo Corleone grows as I get older. At worst, he's a disgruntled naive sibling. At best, he's a loving uncle, son, brother and friend. A seemingly free spirit who didn't fit in the rigid criminal world he was born into.

Mail call! Finally got my @steventhomasart package. I love his work. This is what I call affordable art and I mean that in the best way possible. Can't wait to start reading.
