Hackers (1995). It's always fun to see how film makers tried to visualise cyberspace in the '90s. In Hackers it's not all CGI; a mix of motion control photography, model making and rotoscoping is also used to suggest that supercomputers are cool. "All right, let's boot up..."

Whatever happened to putting your record player on the floor? Are these skills now lost to history?

LOCD from @BristowEwan is the free phase lock effect you didn’t know you needed. Have a look (with an explanation of the knobs -- not to spoil the fun): cdm.link/locd-free-phase-loc…

📸 While going through some never-posted EVA shots (!), I had the idea to line them up chronologically to tell the full story of a spacewalk. Back to June 2021 during mission #Alpha: seven hours floating above Earth 🌍 to install the @Space_Station new solar arrays… not your usual renovation project. 🪛 1️⃣ Just to set the mood… but let’s go back to the beginning. @esa @NASA @NASA_Johnson @esaspaceflight #AlphaArchives #Crew2 ©ESA/NASA–Thomas Pesquet

More importantly in 1982 the MIDI technical standard was agreed. A MIDI link could carry up to sixteen channels of data, allowing synths, sequencers, drum machines and anything else MIDI-enabled to work together. Studio-level technology was suddenly available to anyone.

Feel free to disagree, I'm just a voice in the aether, but name another typeface that would work on a Roland? The future was forged in our imaginations when we were young, and type sometimes needs to take us back there to connect us with tomorrow. I think Earth does the job quite well. More tales of type another time...
