Three weeks prior to the start of the MLB Draft League season, the Mahoning Valley Scrappers are in need of a manager. Joe Thurston, hired in March to manage the club, has since informed the league he has changed his mind and will not be with the Scrappers this summer.
Pending board approval, Chris Kosiorek will be named the head football coach of the Niles McKinley Red Dragons. Kosiorek, a Youngstown Cardinal Mooney graduate, previously held head coaching positions at Mechanicsburg, Crestwood and Gilmour Academy. He owns a 71-54 career record.
Pending board approval, Rick Shepas will be named the head coach of the East Palestine Bulldogs tomorrow night.

Mineral Ridge will begin the search for a head football coach as Brian Shaner and MR have parted ways. Shaner coached 6 years at MR, leading the Rams to 4 playoff appearances. He recorded back-to-back 8-win seasons, and in 2023 led the Rams to the 3rd-round of the playoffs.
