Everyone’s got an MCP. Nobody’s marketing it. We built one for event data. Thing is, our customers run conferences and festivals — they’re not developers. “We shipped an MCP server” means nothing to them. They do use AI tools for work. Just not hooked up to their event tools.

OpenAI took a while to approve our app, so in the meantime everyone had to connect it by hand. Too many steps, too much copy and paste. Instead of a six-step list, we screenshotted every screen and put a little cursor on top that moves to where you should click.

They’ve finally approved it, so the carousel can go. Claude was already one click. Our customers may still not know what MCP means. But they can now ask how ticket sales are going and get an answer. Demo’s still up if you want to mash a keyboard at it. mcp.checkinevent.com

Great find, @nickbakeddesign! Figma’s own HTML → Figma tool can be used in a bookmarklet to grab any page. Also, bookmarklets are awesome, but fiddly to share. I quietly built a tool last year for sharing and installing bookmarklets with drag and drop: is.gd/c7sWYG
There's a free bookmarklet that pastes any website into Figma as editable layers. It replaced a paid tool! ($18/m) it has zero dependency on AI, it runs in your browser and copies any webpage straight to your clipboard as Figma layers using figma mcp.

Stellar piece of data journalism using AI to analyze satellite images, mapping the environmental destruction across Norway in recent years.
How much nature is lost in Norway – the world’s poster child for sustainable development? More than you think. I got shivers when mapping nature loss for this excellent NRK article. Google-translated article: tinyurl.com/3f3d339z Thread about the main findings and methods…

Quick, hire Becs before people realize she’s available!
Unfortunately I've been laid off today and I'm now available for work immediately. I'd love to get back into email / stay within the ecommerce space!

A rare opportunity. Chris is outstanding.
After almost 8 years at Wildbit (and then ActiveCampaign), I'm back in the job market and looking for something new. That's a long time for the tech industry, but it was a blur and shorter than I had hoped. It would have been a dream come true be at one place until retirement.

Feels fascinating being on the training data end of ChatGPT. This is my exact, handcrafted technique from 10 years ago, except for some minor style changes (e.g. Tahoma). What’s more fun is …

It does a pretty decent job customizing the button to your liking. Only discrepancy, at a glance (without having tested the code), is that it conflates the arcsize and border-radius values.
