Emotional people do not appreciate listening to reason
The problem is...
Humans are emotional by default.
"The matter is settled"
"But..."
"No, I will not waste any more time about this"
If your heuristic is correct, great. But if your biases landed you in the wrong position...

Chomsky was wrong on many things, so I'm not surprised.
I will not downplay his role in computational linguistics, and grammar hierarchy. They are foundations of regex and compilers.
However "Halo Effect" is real.
Take the works of an individual separately, not as a whole.
Chomsky was wrong.
Researchers found your brain doesn’t store language the way every textbook since 1957 claims.
For decades, the undisputed rule of linguistics, led by Noam Chomsky, was that human language is hierarchical.
We were told our brains process language using complex "grammar trees." That we secretly build deep, abstract, mathematical rules in our heads before we speak.
This new paper proves that is completely wrong.
Researchers at Cornell University analyzed how people actually process and produce language in real time.
They found sequences. Linear chunks.
When we speak, we aren't calculating deep syntactic rules. We are just predicting the next most logical sequence of words based on the context of the words right before it.
We string linear chunks together.
If this sounds familiar, it should.
This is exactly how Large Language Models like ChatGPT work.
For years, critics have dismissed AI as "just a next-token predictor." They said it isn't truly intelligent because it doesn't understand deep grammatical hierarchies like humans do.
But this paper suggests humans don't use those hierarchies either.
We are just predicting the next chunk.
Language isn't a rigid tree of mathematical rules. It's a linear stream of contextual predictions.
We thought we were building AI to mimic the complexity of the human brain.
It turns out, the human brain was just running a simpler algorithm all along.
Opening old wounds...
I'm usually a forward looking person. But sometimes we have to ground ourselves to have a good future
I really want someone to buy the rights to Mass Effect #SaveMassEffect
However I want some to be nowhere near writing room.

All other storylines,
the culmination of Salarian / Korgan conflict at Tuchanka,
the Geth and Quarian choice (or peace)
the fall of Citadel and refugees
were very well written.
Thank you everyone at @bioware regardless of these feelings.
It was an experience of a lifetime. Even for the bugs at Andromeda.
🚀Excited to announce Nanbeige4.3-33B!
To push the performance ceiling of small agents, our strategy in Nanbeige4.3 starts with building a powerful teacher first.
Nanbeige4.3-33B delivers SOTA agentic performance among open models at ~30B parameters:
* Strong results on agentic coding and cowork benchmarks.
* When integrated into mainstream agent harnesses, it tackles real-world tasks with cost-efficient inference.
* It will serve as a teacher for upcoming smaller Nanbeige models, starting with Nanbeige4.3-3B.

"Back in my day"
Pre-ordering a game not only came with bonus "Day 1 DLC", but it had extras, and some discounts for doing so.
Today, you need to pay $20 for "early access", and the game is not even on the disc anyway.
"Set 600+ years after the Reaper War"
I love Mass Effect, finished it many, many times, and still one of the best games for me, but we dodged a bullet
Without rose tinted glasses
600 years in the future, and if that so called insider leak is correct, we really dodged a bullet
I really wonder where are the writers and game designers that were able to take bold choices
Where is the (spoilers) team that pulled off the KOTOR ending?
Where is our "we are beyond your understanding" writing?
What happened to being able kill off beloved characters?
