The silencing of this Brand accuser is obscene:
On Thursday I wrote about the 2014 injunction Russell Brand obtained against a woman who accused him of assault. I've now obtained the final order. It's breathtaking. She had no lawyer. No trial. Yet she was silenced for life - even barred from speaking to the police. 🧵:

This account by @DanNeidle of Russell Brand's use of an injunction to silence (and bankrupt) a woman who accused him of assaulting her is shocking. She wasn't even allowed to talk about it to the police or to medics other than named individuals. taxpolicy.org.uk/2026/11/07/…

It’s not just the courts. Global/LBC placed these restrictions - that exist forever - into my employment contract. Silencing women who want to speak out about their experiences is a game powerful men (and some women) have enjoyed for years. The Global/LBC’s lawyers also have ethical questions to answer.
Replying to @DanNeidle
How could lawyers justify asking a court to prohibit speech that couldn't conceivably constitute harassment - including private conversations with friends and family, and reports to the police?

VAR takes the best part of five minutes to judge this Jayden Boyle challenge to be unworthy of a red card. • Why so long? • This is a subjective judgement so why not use some of those minutes to allow John Brooks to review his own call? (Unsurprisingly, Mathys Tel failed to complete the half.) #LEETOT youtube.com/@transferspodcas…

Leeds Tottenham. Appalling level of referring. The referee was 5 yards from the incident. VAR watched more than 10 times. Still terrible decision...

🚨 Jamie Carragher on Jayden Bogle’s challenge on Mathys Tel during Leeds against Tottenham: 🗣️ Jamie Carragher: “I watched that challenge on Tel, and I’m telling you, that was nasty. Really nasty. Tel has the ball, he knows Bogle is coming, and he tries to shift his body and move the ball away from him. Then Bogle catches him right on the Achilles, just above the boot. You can see Tel immediately knows something is wrong. He goes down in pain, he’s seriously injured and eventually has to leave the pitch. So I’m sitting there thinking, what exactly are the referee and VAR looking at? They replay it over ten times. They slow it down. They pause it. They show it from different angles. And somehow they still come to the conclusion, ‘You know what? There’s no foul.’ That is an absolute joke. I don’t care how many times you replay it. Look at the contact. Look at where Bogle catches him. Look at Tel’s reaction. You can see the pain on his face immediately. He’s trying to get away from the challenge and gets caught directly on the Achilles. Then he has to leave the pitch injured. And somehow we’re being told it isn’t serious enough? Seriously? What more do you need to see before you decide something is serious? The lad is injured and has gone off. He’s not pretending. He’s not rolling around trying to waste time. He tried to continue and couldn’t. Maybe we’re waiting until a player dies on the pitch before somebody finally says, ‘Actually, that was dangerous.’ Because apparently a player getting caught on the Achilles, going down in obvious pain and leaving the game injured still isn’t enough. That is where football has lost its way. The inconsistency is absolutely abnormal. One week, you see a similar challenge and everyone screams for a red card. The next week, a player gets caught like that and the officials basically shrug their shoulders. How does that make sense? And don’t tell me they didn’t see it. They replayed it again and again. They had every opportunity to look at the contact properly. They chose not to punish it. John Brooks and the VAR team looked at that and decided no serious foul had been committed. I find that incredible. Because if that isn’t serious, what exactly are we waiting for? Are we waiting for Tel to be carried off before we decide it was dangerous? Oh, wait — he already went off injured. So what more evidence do we need? Footballers have to be protected. You cannot allow challenges like that and then act surprised when players get seriously hurt. For me, that was a shocking decision. Not a borderline decision. Not a difficult one. A shocking one. And somebody needs to explain why a player can be caught on the Achilles, leave the pitch injured, and still have the officials decide there was nothing serious about it. Because if this is the standard now, we are asking players to accept dangerous challenges until somebody gets seriously hurt. And I don’t want to hear excuses afterwards. The officials had the footage. They had the time. They had the angles. They had everything they needed to make the right decision. They simply didn’t make it. And that is what makes it so frustrating.”

This should be a wake up call to all Western men, don’t do hook ups and don’t date. If you need sex use an escort. Women can now have you imprisoned 20 years later with just her word, no evidence and the courts will side with her. The only way to win this game is don’t play it.

Presidents certainly have the right to pick their Chiefs of Staff, but selecting Stephen Miller shows that Donald Trump has learned nothing from the message Americans sent him in this election. Miller is the architect of some of the worst policies of this presidency, from the cruel and chaotic ICE enforcement to the tariffs jacking up your costs. Promoting him isn’t only bad for this Administration, it’s bad for the American people.

Trump’s elevation of Stephen Miller to White House Chief of Staff doubles down on the politics of hatred, lawlessness, and failure that the American people soundly rejected three days ago. Stephen Miller is the architect of Trump’s immigration policies that plunged quiet American communities into violence. At Miller’s direction, peaceful, law-abiding people have been seized from their families and imprisoned or deported for minor civil offenses, and American citizens who protested these actions have been beaten up and even killed by masked paramilitary thugs. Miller is also the "brains" behind the illegal, extrajudicial murders of people in the Caribbean and the Pacific, many of whom may have done nothing wrong. He frequently promised in 2024 that Trump would focus on the economy and avoid new wars, and then became an ardent defender of Trump’s foolish, unpopular attacks on Iran and other countries. Stephen Miller embodies the worst elements of the Trump presidency. His promotion shows that Trump has learned nothing from his electoral debacle and has no intention of even trying to work constructively with the next Congress. Trump and his Republican allies who continue to embrace the politics of hate, division, and chaos are wildly out of step with what the American people want. They will keep suffering more defeats until they listen.

Donald Trump just promoted one of the most vile thugs to ever slither into the Oval Office. This is an insult to every American who voted for change on Tuesday. Stephen Miller cooked up the sadistic mass deportation regime that ripped apart families and trampled basic civil rights. Innocent people are dead because of him. Voters rejected his cruelty and extremism. This is sick.
"I am pleased to announce that Mr. Stephen Miller, the current Deputy Chief of Staff of the Trump Administration, and one of my most trusted advisors, will become the Chief of Staff starting Monday, November 9, 2026. Susie Wiles, who has done an outstanding job, will be moving over to the Trump Political Operation. I want to thank her for her service as Chief of Staff — She has done a great job!" - President Donald J. Trump 🇺🇸
