The city says it can’t find $1 million to fund “legal services for undocumented Angelenos facing deportation.” $1 million is an 1/8 of what LAPD spends EACH AND EVERY SINGLE DAY. Read on for more details of what that spending goes to:

$1 million is LESS THAN 2% of what LAPD's 2025 budget earmarks for new vehicles. If LAPD reduced its new vehicle spending by 2% this year (for example 50 undercover vehicles instead of 75) then the city could have funded immigrant legal defense. lapdpolicecom.lacity.org/111…

The city says it can’t find $1 million to fund “legal services for undocumented Angelenos facing deportation.” $1 million is payroll for two or three traffic cops. These losers are why we can’t afford immigrant legal defense: watchthewatchers.net/lapd/di… xitter.cf/stoplapdspying/status/…

Last year 10 officers were paid over $200,000 in OVERTIME ALONE, on top of other pay. This is a tenfold jump from 2022, when traffic cop John Poland was the only LAPD officer paid over $200,000 in overtime. Poland was paid $209,938 in overtime in 2023, up from $202,793 in 2022.

Asylums are and have always been a re brand of eugenics, mass incarceration but with less due process and human experimentation. America is Legislating a Return to the Asylum, One Policy at a Time - Mad In America.

LAPD is defunding the city. Over 80% of LAPD officers live outside Los Angeles, removing over $1.4 BILLION in annual payroll from the city. @LAPPL then uses a cut of every LAPD paycheck to buy off politicians, lobby for repressive laws, and hold us all hostage.

Andrew Mathes was paid $240,350 in overtime in 2024: Mathes helped lead an illegal crackdown on a Palestine protest outside City Hall. He's also been sued by @LACANetwork for civil rights violations in Skid Row. xitter.cf/PplsCityCouncil/status…
LAPD strategically chose Lt. Andrew Mathes as one of the pigs to lead the sweep of the Divest LA From Genocide encampment in front of City Hall Mathes is no stranger to those in Skid Row. In 2016, he was named in a lawsuit by @LACANetwork and others for civil rights violations

More than a thousand LAPD officers cost over $250,000 in 2024 payroll, and 36 cost over $400,000, most in ranks whose pay soared due to the deal Mayor Bass cut with @LAPPL in 2023. This one sergeant has cost around half a million dollars each year since 2022.

WATCHTHEWATCHERS.NET now displays updated payroll for every LAPD officer. This data shows how @MayorOfLA Karen Bass has worked closely with LAPD to defund the city and cede more resources to a pro-ICE police force.

“Healthy Streets” is not about health, it’s about disappearance. Laws like 41.18 don’t protect people, they erase them. Unhoused folks are being pushed out, punished, and policed for existing in public. We fight for a city that doesn’t throw anyone away.

Another top overtime hog is Chester McMillion. McMillion (yes real name) led a group of SWAT officers who cost the city a $3.5 MILLION jury verdict last year and has also cost $1.35 million in payroll since 2022.

Often the same pigs are costing both huge payroll and liability, like Fred Sigman who in 2024 cost the city a $24 MILLION jury verdict on top of $244,029 in payroll. That verdict is among the largest in LAPD history. Sigman faced no consequences and is now a traffic officer.

Alongside Mayor Bass’s LAPD pay hike, the other widely recognized cause of the city’s fiscal crisis is LAPD liability payments. LAPD liability payments have tripled since 2020 and are set to skyrocket further with LAPD’s unchecked violence this past month.

Bass’s response to this self-inflicted “fiscal crisis” is even more handouts to her @LAPPL boosters: She cut LAPD “civilian” jobs so uniformed officers get paid overtime to do that work. LAPD has already spent $11.7 MILLION on overtime providing cover for violent ICE raids:
