Great the Alexander Nikishin saga is over for now. Hurricanes demonstrated the class organization they are with the handling of this delicate situation. It is clear the Canes will be a serious contender for the cup again based on their early performance & imagine just how much deeper they will be when Staal, Hall, Jankowski & now, Nikishin, return to the line-up.

Not surprised. Best move for all concerned. Will be interesting to see how this all plays out with Valimaki & Reilly doing an admirable job

Hurricanes decision to keep Jesperi Kotkaniemi against much criticism is paying dividends right now. Kotkaniemi is making a difference & is really starting to find his game. In last 9 games, he has 3 goals & 3 assists, not to mention he is a +5 on the season. In addition, his faceoff numbers are improving after 10/16 performance vs the Blues.

Pyotr Kochetkov with the shutout last night is now 7-0-0 with 1.70GAA & .916save% & 1SO. He sits 4th in NHL in GAA & is in top 10 in save %. His 7 wins to start the season is 2nd only to Freddie Andersen who had 8. Is this the year Pyotr puts it all together?
