Red Imported Fire Ants (RIFA) are a high priority pest (HPP) for many states and territories, due to their destructive impact on agriculture industries.
With recent wet weather events along the south-east cost of Australia, there have been sightings of RIFA building rafts and flowing downstream with the flood waters, spreading further throughout Australia and into locations that were previously free from the pest.
