🚨 BREAKING: In a brutal development, NYC restaurant mogul CANCELS ALL future restaurant expansion due to Zohran Mamdani's socialism, "defund the police" and $30 minimum wage.
Even worse for Zohran: He has plans ready to go in MIAMI, FLORIDA.
STRATIS MORFOGEN: "We had 3 leases ready...to expand Diner 24...but when I hearing 'defund the police' and uncertainty in the small business, with what this upcoming mayor is campaigning on."
"Let's see if he passes any of these things he campaigned on. Because we're NOT gonna open any businesses in that climate!"
"The politicians don't understand it...when you raise minimum wage to $30. At that point, that $12 hamburger becomes $22. And it WON'T work in the fast casual business when the average ticket is $15-$24 per person. That's basically the nail in the coffin. You're out of business!"
Yikes. NYC may have cooked itself.

I think @ZohranKMamdani needs to understand things from your perspective.
You can't go from $10.65/$16.50 per hour to $30.
Labor makes up the biggest part of the cost.
A lot of small businesses will be forced to close. Others will close either out of spite, or because there's better opportunities elsewhere. Inflation will skyrocket.
Going to $15/$20 tipped/untipped would be a reasonable compromise. Even that seems a little high.
If Zohran wants to save face and not go back on promises he can aim for $25/$30 by 2030.

Great dinner last night with Kenan Thompson and Stratis Morfogen at Stratis’ Brooklyn Chop House. Kenan and I enjoyed our meal, your company, and our conversation. It was amazing to learn how intertwined my life and Stratis’ life were.
