WATCH: The immigration experiment that changes everything
We hit the streets and gave people a syringe representing Alberta’s entire healthcare budget and asked them to drain out how much they think non-permanent residents use.

I’ve heard this from fans and we’ve heard this from his camp. It’s an argument that persists without a single example of Ovechkin being anything other than an enthusiastic Putin supporter.
When Ovechkin started PutinTeam in 2017, three years into the invasion of Ukraine, anonymous Caps sources tried to give Ovi some cover and told the Post he was enlisted to do so by the government. Ovechkin corrected them and said it was actually his idea.
His Instagram profile picture is him and Putin. He posted a hashtag suggesting the invasion of Ukraine was about saving children. He’s in an ad standing with a woman wanted by the ICC for kidnapping Ukrainian children (by her own admission). He married the daughter of a Russian businessman connected to the Russian defense industry and multiple U.S.-sanctioned companies.
The Russian celebrities he parties and vacations with according to IG posts aren’t the ones who spoke against the regime and faced consequences, or even the ones who stayed silent — they’re among Putin’s most ardent supporters. They describe Ukrainians as Nazis (Jasmine), describe the war as “a just cause” (Artem Dzyuba) and perform at Putin’s rallies (Sergei Zhukov).
Ovechkin’s own GM was confident enough about Ovechkin having a choice in participating in the campaign video to say that if Ovechkin had told them he planned to do the ad, “I doubt we'd be standing where we're standing right now if he had run it by us.”
Now, if you ask me why journalists are making the same argument Ovechkin’s camp has made for the last dozen years — without evidence and without, in at least one instance, agreement from Ovechkin himself — I haven’t the slightest clue.

Multiple social media accounts are accusing the Oilers of kicking out a fan for waving an Alberta flag at last Saturday's game.
I reached out to the Oilers for a statement, and they responded by saying the flag wasn't the issue.

I wasn’t paying attention when I got on the bus last Monday, and I accidentally got on the MAiD bus luckily, I was able to escape through a floor hatch before I got killed. The other 20 people on the bus were not so lucky.

To everyone so eager to cancel someone for a tattoo they got at age 22, a drunk text, a selfie they took in the middle of a mental health crisis:
Show us your laptop.
Show us your iCloud.
Open your entire digital life to your worst enemy. No context. No filter. No explanation.
You won’t.
You won’t because you know what I know. Any one of us, frozen at our worst moment, photographed in our lowest hour, looks like a monster. Looks like a stranger. Looks like someone who deserves to be cast out.
That is not who we are.
My mom and baby sister were killed in a car accident when I was just a kid. Cancer took my brother Beau, my best friend and my rock. I battled alcoholism. I battled addiction. I chose the coward’s way out more times than I can count.
For years I believed the defining chapters of my life were written by tragedy, loss, and shame.
I no longer believe that.
Pain can shape us. Loss can humble us. Failures can leave scars that never fully fade. But none of them have the authority to define us.
And it sure as hell ain’t the critic that counts.
That authority belongs to us alone-the person in the arena.
Every setback presents a choice. Play the victim, or cut the bullshit and take ownership for who we become next.
Life does not determine our character. It reveals it.
Again and again we are asked the same question. When shit happens, what next?
We are not defined by what happened to us. We are not defined by the worst photo, the worst text, the worst tattoo, the worst night. We are defined by the person we choose to become. And by the courage to choose that person, every single day.
So before you reach for the gavel - show us your laptop.
You won’t.
The whole world saw mine. And I am still here. Still becoming. Still choosing. Still standing.
That is the only definition that matters.

The numbers in this graphic are misleading. The east-west averages are skewed by P.E.I. The four Western provinces average one federal riding for every 108,687 people (based on 2021 census). That's better than Ontario (116k per seat) and almost bang on Quebec (109k).

Ruhe in Frieden Juha Miettinen
18.01.1960 - 18.04.2026
Danke❤️

Of course contrails exist. And you see them more due to a 400% increase in air traffic since the 70s for starters. Added to that, low flying turboprops being replaced by turbojets that now fly higher causing a more dense route structure which when the right conditions are present…produces more contrails.
But the Internet loves a good conspiracy, so let’s jet pretend it’s poison instead and blame it on some elite cabal to feed outrage, feel enlightened and scoop up clicks for engagement.
We can mistrust the government and media…but let’s try not to swallow everything from strangers on the Internet as a blind alternative.👊🏼

Dear @VoiceOfFranky,
The reason you don’t wake up each night wondering what Iran is going to do to threaten the planet is because you have been sheltered your entire life by the safety net that the US has created around North America.
I can assure you that the people of the Middle East, like Israel for example, regularly wake with existential dread of what Iran is up to. Especially considering the regime’s primary focus of genociding them off the face of the earth and supporting every terrorist proxy they could to undermine our way of life.
Dial down the TDS, it’s clouded your mind to no longer see the world for how it actually is.

If Canada bought Gripens, then we would have an aircraft that could actually land at Alert airfield.
16 miles from Greenland.
F-35's can't do that and have abysmal air readiness with Full Mission Capable rates between 29-35%
Gripens are above 90% FMC and are arctic defenders.

I’ve said this before but: If a plane hit turbulence and the pilot panicked, aimed the nose to the ground and crashed, no one would say “Well, you try flying a plane in turbulence.” They would say “That is a bad pilot. That’s not how pilots should handle things.”
Do you know that ICE agents aren’t robots? They are HUMANS. Humans who are men and women doing a job that can be a very scary job. A job that has and always will be necessary. When they are put in a terribly scary position and they are already on edge TERRIBLE things happen that didn’t need to. NO ONE should be happy when terrible things happen. It’s sad. Life doesn’t happen in a slow motion video frame by frame to judge what SHOULD have happened. It happens quick. Kick the bees nest and the bees come. I’m greatly sad about all of this.
